Just a clarification - under the new system, PCC codes are NOT invalid (well, not exactly). Per BFG's announcements, they "should" have automatically converted over to points. If they did not (and I gather many did not), write into Customer Service & complain & you should get the points allocated to your account. (And yes, I realize there is a time-sensitivity in case they might have an expiration date that comes up while you are trying to get things straightened out, but CS should be willing to fix that too). BTW, based on other notes CS has provided us in the past, if you also have other coupon codes, those also ought to be converted to points by CS but do require you to take an additional nuisance step of also writing in.
BFG has made a mess of the transfer process and yes, they should indeed have straightened all this out in the many months they delayed implementation of the change. Absolutely no excuse for the slipshod rollout after all the delays.

according to @synthpopaddicts website about the new CEO, their model goal is to have this very setup but with the mobile games, that is why they modeled the website this way I believe to make way for the new mobile games platform...at least that's the take I got from reading it

kasie , it would seem that things that worked yesterday have gone belly up today. How unlike BFG (yes I am resorting to sarcasm).. The other person reviewing on todays game club game...was saying that they were having trouble with that. Mine is fine...and but it seems many are getting error codes and BAD glitches trying to buy. A grand assortment of problems. So it seems they broke what little WAS working yesterday. Sending you good luck wishes. This is one painful process alright! ** UPDATE: The 'other' review (other than pennmom 's has been taken down)...but it did say log on probs and glitch error codes. Will they remove pennmom 's? ?

kasie somebody mentioned that the browser you're using actually matters. (... BFG became more sensitive to Firefox?) I also, don't have problem accessing data on the BFG site.

Let me add this conversation here as well. Here is my speculation about the changes currently going on at Big Fish Games The biggest thing BFG did for developers was bringing eyeballs to our products. They had big following and the site model helped games get visibility. Now that they removed the top 100 and top 9 / category, games can get burried under their massive inventory and never be seen again. They currently sort categories by date of release; if things stay the same, games of lower quality can take the spotlight away from high quality ones. They may even want to release more than one game/day and maybe move the QA and customer support in the developer's yard. If such a model were implemented games may be updated more often, and players may have a wider array to choose from; but several small developers may go belly up, the site may be flooded with trash, and several more developers may be forced to move their focus to other markets. I may be completely wrong but I think this change is the final nail in the coffin of the "BFG era of PC Premium Casual games". If devs are forced to handle marketing themselves, than Steam is a much better platform and only takes a 30% share instead of ~50%. Game prices are already better on Steam. Here is an article found by SynthpopAddict : venturebeat.com/2022/07/22/how-big-fish-games-is-focusing-on-its-core-business-of-casual-mobile-games/TLDR: they will focus hard on the mobile market and try to cut down all distraction. I think they estimate that the PC Business is taking up too much of their limited resources and will try to automate as much of it as possible. What are your thoughts on removing the top 100 and category spotlights? Add to the fact that they are no longer taking PC games submissions at the moment, they may slowly kill that business and we are left to fend for ourselves. I've ALWAYS started with the top 10 and then the top 100 when I was searching for new/popular games - then I checked their reviews, since among the top 10 there were games got on the top list by simply being new. Then I scooted down on their alphabetical list, since I tend to buy whole collections - if I like a game from a particular developer I check out ALL what they offer. So I dearly miss the "old ways", and I'm pretty confused about the "logic" of the New Order zombie!! I did like the BFG site for its simple searches for a game - I do agree with others saying that Steam is not very "search friendly" - but now, even that little bit of plus is gone.
If what you say is true, that they are actually doing this because they want to force the developers to take care of their own marketing entirely, then they are up for a double whammy, I believe. They are already loosing loyal customers, now they will start to loose loyal developers, because the 50% share from profit (or price?) is disgustingly high for merely publishing a game, and it is a rip off! They do understand that without games to offer and customers to buy them they have no business, don't they?
If the reason for this change is to follow the mobile platform market model, then they are actually changing their whole business structure right now, and we have seen only the first steps of this transition, and we are (both devs and PC players) up for more surprises in the near future.
But, every miracle lasts for 3 days, so we need to see more with time - I am, for one, cancelling my membership with BFG after over 10 years of loyalty and convert to other PC gaming platforms, like Steam. I wish I could find a way to save my games I've acquired through BFG and cancel my whole account with them, too.

moni ..there IS a way to save your games. I have been saving my favourites for a few years. It DOES take up space on your hard drive..so I save the ones I never want to lose. I believe galaxy saved hers on to an external hard drive using my method..but can't remember if it worked. Using the method I am about to explain. I am storing a 'whole' game on my computer..and do not need gamemanager or internet at all to play them. I go to my sisters and play them...and she does not even have an internet connection. After you buy a game and play it... Right click and Send the icon on your screen to your 'documents'. Then you can right click and delete it from your screen. When you want to play the game again...go to documents..and right click ..send to desktop (create icon)..magic its back. You cant remove/ or uninstall the rest of the game from your computer or your game manager or the icon cant find the files. But it works without actually 'using' the game manager. You have saved the files and the 'launcher' Just try with one you have on your desktop now..sending it's icon to documents and back. No uninstalling the game though. I have saved about a hundred faves I never want to lose. I don't use my laptop for much else so I have room. I hope galaxy will join us an d let us know if her 'external harddrive' works just as well?? Then we can all save ALL our games without taking any space.

joybelle, moni, A few years back I tried saving to my ED but they all have to remain on the GM anyway, when yo delete from GM it deletes from ED too none of it matters, I think BF didn't even care about those with the GM glitch and it could be a long long long time before this issue is solved!

moni , I think if you are connected to the internet...it automatically opens game manager. But it's not necessary. I tested this within the house by turning my internet off and on. It worked both ways..and out of the house without internet on (cos my tv uses it)..they still work. The main thing is the games must stay on your game manager and your drive..you cant uninstall them from either. But I never had the GM prob that pennmom did. (I opened a whole new account before it glitched at 1000 games in my purchase history)..apparently it does not happen anymore?? But it was too late back then for pennmom .

I never have game icons on my desktop - that would be chaotic - they have their own designated "games" folder, and I don't have to move them around, they can be launched directly from their folder and not from the GM - but when I close the game, the GM comes up. Even if I don't have internet connection, the GM still comes up, only it doesn't have their daily ads on it.
I'm under the impression, that if I close my account (not my membership but the whole account) with BFG, then I won't have their GM, either. So my question was (and it was actually answered by Synthpop, already), or it wasn't even a question just a wish, that would I be able to play my games if I had cancelled my whole account (and the GM with it). Is there a way, to have the games, I paid hard cash for, but not the GM? If BFG decides to go out of business and their GM will be gone - will my "own for life" games will be out of business, too, forever unreachable for me?

What you fail to see is there is no problem with a game. Where does it say there was a problem with a game. I was writing them to find out what is extra in the Ce and got one and it also says it is automated. You still want to argue? You are wrong. No, this whole argument was about you thinking you're owed something and that other people are not. Edited to add: If I didn't find that e-mail we still be arguing over who is right, I can find and submit more of them if you like.
I don't actually care what your reason was to write to them. You do not get to decide that there were no problems with MY games, which is the usual reason that I write to them. You do not get to lecture me about playing the demo when there are games in which the problem doesn't show up until after the demo has run its course. Sending a FREEGAME code is useless if the code's expiry date will not be honored. Not everyone has a substitute game in mind immediately, or they might have wanted to wait for a particular game they knew would be released in the coming week or so. That was the issue I stated at PF, it was the issue up until they stopped sending these codes (I did get one earlier this year, and you better believe it that I used it immediately), and it would be great if you would stop 'splaining what my pov is. Honestly, I know that better than anyone else. This whole argument is me thinking I'm owed the good or service I paid for, or an acceptable substitute, and you thinking it's no big deal that BFG has been screwing its customers over for years. If people lied to BFG about games not working just to get a code, that's on them. I never did that. As for people using codes that others shared... the point is that they had an EXPIRY DATE. It's like if you get a coupon for a box of cereal at the grocery store and the coupon has an expiry date. The store has to honor it until that date. I don't see this situation as any different. Yes, hundreds or thousands of people could use that store coupon, and it's obvious that many more people used the FREEGAME codes than BFG intended. I know I am not the only one burned by the expiry dates for codes I was issued by BFG. If the use of these codes was limited to how many people used them, BFG should have said so, and they did not. Carrying on about writing to them over and over to get a code that finally works isn't the point. The point is that if you issue a coupon or code with an expiry date, you honor it.
I did not start it, and if you check some other posts, you will find that other people do agree with me that expiry dates need to be honored.

pennmom, It is interesting to see that some people didn't bother for the top 100. I always took that for granted. I do look for the creme of the crop in whatever I am interested in, and even though I know that popularity contests aren't very good at gaging true quality, it's usually where I start my search. As for the alphabetical sorting, I would expect it to be added later. Larry Plotnick seems to be applying the Pareto principle. I wonder if the whole PC game hustle manages to bring in more than 2 mil $ every month, which is a rough estimate of the revenue Gummy Drop alone rakes in. Under these circumstances I too would shelve the whole PC business and focus on developing more games like Gummy Drop. As for HOPAs, now that BFG is in shambles, you may see them launched much faster on Steam joybelle, Yes, we used to track the movements in the top 100 and evaluate trends. moni, "If the reason for this change is to follow the mobile platform market model, then they are actually changing their whole business structure right now, and we have seen only the first steps of this transition, and we are (both devs and PC players) up for more surprises in the near future." In the article, Plotnik states clearly that the main focus will be on creating new IPs. They are considering developing a system similar to what they had for PC but in the mobile market. That brings some hope but I doubt it will happen soon. They do have the Big Fish Games App but I don't know how that works. Here is some prise to steam: you can add your own games from other providers to their launcher. Search for any game you want and you can look at the description. Both developer and publisher are listed in the description. You can click on them and look at everything that the developer made. You can follow devs and keep track of their games. You can look at the whole catalog of each publisher and many of them have it sorted by genre! As an extra thing... did you know that you can play mobile games on your pc? be it windows or mac, regardless of version?

If you look on the e-mail from Bigfish it says complimentary even. So end of story. You did not pay for a coupon code.
You should be also aware that the two boards Pondfriend's and here they allowed you to share coupon codes. As for Bigfish not honoring their coupon date that's on them. People are going to do what is best for them and that's why I believe you used coupon codes that got out.
Edited to add: If you would have e-mailed Bigfish they would have given you a code.

I've been giving it more tought and maybe it isn't all that dire after all. BFG has a mobile app called Big Fish Games Finder, it is similar to the game manager but for mobile. With both Windows 11 and newer MacOS supporting mobile apps, it seems like this could be a natural progression. If they continue developing that app, everybody could get what they want and the PC market would not be left behind but rather benefit from the mobile market. It sure changes the way things are done but it does not abandon us. pennmom, what is ARK?

I received a reply from BFG today and they have honored my punch card and replacement code with points on my account. I now have 2097 points on my account. I also put in for another replacement game yesterday. I never lie about finding problems and I think most people are honest. I actual think their reply was pretty speedy considering all the problems. Maybe there is hope.
