I have so been looking forward to this game but then after less than five minutes got trapped in a cage. Karma for not finishing our last group game yet. I had it coming.

WELL.... I DO own this game from BF but as most of you know, I am unable to download any game that was purchased on the old platform! I was faced with a huge dilemma, do I buy it from Steam when I already own the game at BF? Then I decided to purchase the game because it was only $5.99 since I am requesting a full refund of all my worthless unplayable games from BFG! PS: picked up a few other deals too, all for just a few cents more than The Tower of Beatrice alone on BF!
($7.99 versus $8.95 for 5 games total)

I can't believe I missed this one on BFG. Had to go there to see when it was offered. Would have loved to get it for free and wouldn't have requested it for group play if I realized others had played it already.

Havent started yet, but see complaints on Steam that there is no save feature and the game only saves once you complete a room....and if you quit the game before completing a room, you have to start it again from the beginning. Is this true & does it mean I should only play when I have a big block of time available so I can make sure I can complete an entire room before terminating??

Nothing like a snarky witch to start the day. Made it to the art room and so far my only complaint is there is no save. Must complete the room to save the game.

I have played this game. Most of the levels don't take too long but a couple are pretty difficult and take longer. Even then, I think even the longest one can be done in under an hour and that's being generous.

Well, took me longer than an hour especially room 4 with the snarky demon I wanted to kill. Made me wish for the bottomless wine bottle in the art room. Will start room 5 tomorrow. Oh I got around the no save feature by simply turning off my monitor.

Oh my. I guess the game developer thought his "hints" would be useful to us. Ummm, no!! I'll admit I definitely need bigger, better hints, particularly once I figure I've gotten all the mileage I can off of one of them. Who'da guessed sometimes a character will have a change of heart in his spirit of helpfulness if you are just mindlessly persistent! Hate the lack of save. Just finished the clock tower & would dearly like to spend a bit of time in the art room before turning in for bed. Errr, but based on the clock tower, I'm definitely failing at the criteria of 1 hour per room, so have little faith of being able to complete the art room before getting tuckered....particularly if smitty189 thinks I need a caution for it (which of course I wont read until after I get in trouble!). Oh well, perhaps I'll be smarter tomorrow!

Finally out of the art room. Don't want to talk about how many times I had to start over that evil room plus having to check into a walk through because I couldn't figure out what mister chalk wanted me to do. Kept trying to fit everything into the square. several times. For the most part I like the game and the snarky witchy book.

pennmom , yes it took me 17+ hours, but I left the game running when I needed to calm down from frustration if I didn't get the room. Haven't used the hints or walkthrough. Was worth every penny I spent on this one

I would really like this game IF (a) it allowed saves so I didnt have to waste my time when unable to complete a room in one session and (b) if it did not have so many instances where it takes multiple repeats of an action before the game finally deigns to allow it to be effective. In the latter case, since it is merely persistence and not a change in conditions (but with no indication that persistence will be successful), this is just an annoyance, not a "challenge", imho. As it is, those two things turn what would be a highly enjoyable game into pure drudgery, for me at least.
mooky, Congrats on never needing a walkthrough! A stellar achievement. I've had to resort to one a couple times for real, and then a couple times merely because I'm not willing to let an hour or two of effort go to waste because I am currently stumped & dont want to leave my machine on overnight while my brain cogitates on a problem I might otherwise be able to solve with a little more thought.

good2bqueen , moni , lurkercat , smitty189 , sandy , mooky , NEED HELP ASAP:
I'm in the 2nd part of the Art Room and I am stuck...I think, could be a glitch?? PS I clicked ctrl/alt/del to exit out of the game without closing it because I wasn't sure if I would have to repeat the entire 1st half of the art room as well or if this is considered a save point after opening art door and going to the next section? So HELP asap pwease {Spoiler}I got the shell & the "crocheted rag" from the bug in the tiny tower but when I went to use the rag on the steam hole the inventory square shows my crocheted rag in the middle of the shell so when I click on the square it says "shell" only so how do I get my rag?

pennmom , That did not happen to me so I'm thinking it just might be a glitch. What if you put the shell in it's proper place? I just completed that room today. I have to look up how many rooms to see if I can complete a room a day because the save issue is a drag. My other complaint is that sometimes things just don't make sense and force a walk through peek. I only just figured out there is a hint system though not exactly helpful. I thought it just showed the active areas. Even with all that I do like the game. It's satisfying to finally get out of a room.

I left my computer running all night because I didn't have time to try the "shell" suggestion yesterday and didn't want to have to replay the level. Then I discovered that when I left the Art Room and entered the snowball room it was a new Room (but it said I was still in the Art Room so I thought it was a part B Art room) so it would have been okay to exit out of the game!! Now on Steam it shows I have logged 26 hours into the game after I finished the snowball room (will be starting on Room 5 tomorrow) Today, I used the shell that had the blanket attached and the blanket followed the shell into... {Spoiler}the Cauldron. When I used the vial to collect the potion, the handkerchief suddenly appeared in my inventory!
