After I posted I remembered and old favorite by a favorite poet Written in 1864 by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow It stands the test of time and remains very pertinent to today's wrorld
Christmas Bells
I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
And thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along
The unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
Till ringing, singing on its way,
The world revolved from night to day
A voice, a chime,
A chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
Then from each black, accursed mouth
The cannon thundered in the South,
And with the sound
The carols drowned
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!
It was as if an earthquake rent
The hearth-stones of a continent,
And made forlorn
The households born

Thanks, pennmom, The angel is on top. The larger-sized ornaments around the tree are Victorian-themed dolls, dresses, and Santas. If you zoom up the picture, you can spot a theatrical mask in the center of the tree. It reminds me of a hidden-object item, lol. |

kimtwilight69, I do an angel on top too. I have Hallmark Barbie's and Madame Alexzander facing my chair and Batman, Spider man facing the other direction.

I collected different ornaments every year that had a meaning or was related to an event that took place that year. I had ornaments that my 3 boys made throughout their school years and was just starting to get ornaments my wee grandkids had made. This year will be different, all those special ornaments are gone and we just have a bunch of silver round ornaments and an Angel Pawprint ornament I bought for Loki  |
