OK. Tearstone wouldn't work on my Windows 10 but worked on my older computer (I think it's Windows 7). I'm up for any game. I don't think I've played any on the list that pennmom put out. I don't have a Steam membership though. I went on the site and really don't understand about the keys etc.

Hello @all <3
Thanks for (tried) to play old Tearstone :) It is game from 2010. and there are 2 or 3 game breaking errors on Windows 10 (64bit)- mouse cursor freeze on tutorial is "sign" that game won't work. But, on some PC configuration working fine (with Win 10 64bit). I think it is matter of graphics card. So, if someone want to try - easiest way is to try demo on BFG > if cursor freeze on first game scene (tutorial) just quit :)
Anyway, thanks again for showing interest in our game. Some interesting fact about first Tearstone: that was first SE game ranked on 1st place (BFG top100) for almost 3 weeks. Not sure is any other SE game was No1 on BFG top100 ;)
Really looking forward to see what you'll think about sequel :D There is a (big) chance that you'll receive invitation from BFG to test demo hour in following week or two. If some of you want to test before, maybe we can arrange internal testing on forum(s)? (not sure is this sounds ok for you)
Wish you all the best! Stay safe and healty! Chris

They have a ton of Free Games to play (see the STEAM & STEAM related threads) and, unlike BF, you can put any game on your Wishlist and they will notify you when a game goes on sale! suzanne, about Steam Keys: Developers & friends etc. can give you Steam Keys, it's kind of like BF FREEGAME coupon code. You can also purchase Steam Game Keys from sites like Fanatical which allows you to buy Steam Bundles (you don't get the game from them, you get Steam Keys to redeem at Steam (and Epic Games) You will install the Steam Game Manager and on the bottom left is a tab that allows you to add Steam Keys...it is a download wizard type of scenario that does everything for you! TO ALL: You should create a Free Steam Membership, there's no obligation! You can get a Steam Download Manager and even play offline! What's unique about Steam is that you can find "friends" and add them to your Friends List, then you can even chat with them and so much more. Fanatical has amazing deals, you should all check out our Fanatical Thread where Jo and I are constantly updating the Bundle Sales! I believe mooky got an amazing HOPA package recently, and even posted some Steam Keys for the games she already had because she only paid a buck apiece and got a whole slew of games! Some of the HOPA Keys may still be unclaimed. chrisdragonseye , THANKS! for stopping by for our problems with the original Tearstone. I actually got through the bulk of the tutorial (to the woman who wants the fan) before I hit my first frozen cursor, but I can see how the Windows 10 glitch might happen anywhere. Bummer. Really looking forward to your second game in the series now since I was having fun at the original one until Windows 10 insisted on being nasty. Tried switching compatibility to XP/SP3 (wouldnt run at all) and Windows 7 (frozen cursor problem still happened). I'm sure a bunch of us here would love to help you out with beta testing the new one! Upside Down

Anyone have any clue what causes "Get Thread Context" errors? I get them on the '93 version of Gabriel Knight which the link for the group play points to (and oddly, I also get it on all Dreamscape games that we were discussing recently in a different thread). The error kills processing & often requires a reboot. Many times one can reload & continue from the place of the error & make some progress, only to have it crop up a little further down the road. Web queries used to indicate the error was the result of some virus-checker or firewall interaction, but I note some more recent discussion seems to link it more to some oddity in which interface is used to get thread context on a 64-bit system running a 32-bit application (which I can see developers way back in 1993 certainly would have had no reason to plan for!).
I noted Steam has updated their Gabriel Knight demo to now be for the new 2013/4 remastered version of the game. Tried that and didnt get the error (well, at least as far in the demo as I went, which was just up to the 1st real challenge). But the 2013 version of the game is still at a pricy $19.99 so I'm not motivated to buy the newer version till it is on a hefty sale. Besides, the new version has changed some of the existing puzzles, and added some new ones, which makes hard to deal with in a group play, since folks may run into different troubles and/or not be able to work through them the same way, so it is hard to help one another while playing different versions of the game. Anyhow, does anyone know some magic way to avoid the problem??

The Group Play Date will begin on March 7, 2021 (you can join the group play anytime, there's no time limit, you play at your own pace, no one's judging, it's meant to be fun!)Gee pennmom, it is already March 7 in some parts of the world (though not mine). When do we start??

suzanne, fatalisima, chrisdragonseye, pennmom, smitty189, lurkercat, I just made an announcement for Last Call on the game poll in the SB We will start the game tomorrow (US-forum time) and so far The Surprising Adventures of Munchausen is in the lead...if your favorite isn't picked this time, don't worry, they will be on the next poll as well, we can play games till our fingers no longer work (then we'll use our toes!)

Is it possible to organize a poll so each person gets, say, 1st place, 2nd place etc choices? Would be nice to have several games scheduled so we can wait for a good sale to buy them, rather than just having a day or two and so stuck with whatever prices are immediately available.
P.S. Oh look, I'm a frog instead of a snail!
