National False Teeth Day – March 9, 2022~U.S.
National False Teeth Day is observed every year on March 9 to raise awareness about the necessity of dental care. False teeth, also known as dentures, are becoming increasingly popular amongst both the young and the elderly. Many celebrities, including Ben Affleck, Miley Cyrus, George Clooney, Tom Cruise, and Morgan Freeman, have false teeth.
Whether or not you wear dentures, it’s critical to keep your mouth clean, which begins with dental care. The fact that we put off dental check-ups and care until later is most likely the reason for this day. So let’s show some love to the ones that make our smiles brighter.
HISTORY OF NATIONAL FALSE TEETH DAY While there is no verifiable evidence as to who or when this holiday originated, let us delve into the fascinating history of the creation of dentures. You might be surprised to know that dentures have existed since the 7th century B.C. Etruscans from ancient Italy were the first to fabricate dentures from animal and human teeth. However, this art of making dentures stopped with the collapse of their civilization.
It was not until the 1700s that it re-emerged after a long halt. Ivory, extracted from elephants, walrus, and hippopotamus, was one of the earliest materials used to make dentures. These fake teeth, however, did not seem natural and decayed swiftly. Displeased by their poor quality, the French replaced ivory with porcelain. Porcelain dentures were hand-painted to seem like natural teeth but when flamed, they shriveled.
Then came the ghastly ‘Waterloo teeth’. They were human teeth of soldiers who died in the battle of Waterloo. Even though it seems revolting, they were in high demand in the late 18th century. These were collected from the Waterloo battlefield. Thankfully, this practice faded once Charles Goodyear discovered vulcanite in 1843. Dentures manufactured of this flexible rubber were both comfortable to wear and inexpensive to purchase.
Moving on to more recent times, we now have moldable plastics like acrylic resin that are easier to fit in and last longer. False teeth have come a long way and aren’t a hassle anymore.

National Crab Meat Day – March 9, 2022~U.S.
National Crab Meat Day is celebrated on March 9 every year. This holiday celebrates the tasty goodness of crab meat and the delicious recipes that include this ingredient.
There is a large market for crab in America and an even larger market for imitation crab meat, which is used as a replacement for actual crab in many recipes. Imitation crab is preferred by a lot of people, but when it comes down to it, people love the soft, sweet flavor of crab meat, and nothing can replace the original.
HISTORY OF NATIONAL CRAB MEAT DAY National Crab Meat Day pays homage to the deliciousness of crab meat and its popularity across the country.
Crabs are crustaceans found in all the oceans of the world. They are covered with a hard shell, known as an exoskeleton, and usually have two claws known as pincers. One of these pincers is usually larger than the other. The claws also have meat and are one of the most flavorful and meatiest parts of the crab.
Some species of soft-shell crabs are eaten whole, including the shell, while with others only the legs and claws are edible. The roe or crab eggs are also a delicacy across the world, particularly in Southeast Asia. In America, Chesapeake Bay is the area where crab roe is primarily consumed.
Crab meat is known for its delicate, sweet flavor. So while there are recipes, particularly in Asia, where the meat is used in recipes that use a lot of spice, most American recipes for crab rely on the flavor of the meat itself. Alaskan crab, for instance, is cooked by boiling it with garlic and butter and not much else.
Crab is also a popular ingredient in American sushi, but because of the expense, most restaurants prefer to use imitation crab rather than actual crab since the flavor isn’t central to the experience in these recipes.
When it comes to fishing and fisheries, crabs account for 20% of all the crustaceans caught, farmed, or consumed. They are eaten all over the world in many different preparations, recipes, and methods.

National Barbie Day – March 9, 2022~U.S.
Throw on some Aqua — March 9 is National Barbie Day! In 1959, an 11-inch tall bombshell made her debut at the American International Toy Fair in New York. Designed by Ruth Handler, the co-founder of Mattel Inc., Barbie was created to allow girls to imagine what their lives could be like in the future. She’s had a slew of careers, from a registered nurse to an astronaut. And she’s done it all with a companion. Barbie was a single lady for all of 2 years. But in 1961, overwhelming demand caused Handler to release a boyfriend for her — Ken. (Verdict’s out if he’s ever going to put a ring on it.) On National Barbie Day, we celebrate all things Barbie.

Amerigo Vespucci Day – March 9, 2022~U.S.
Amerigo Vespucci Day is observed on March 9 every year in the U.S. This day is to commemorate the discovery and evolution of the U.S. Americans celebrate this day with zeal, staging spectacular parades, educational events, and cultural competitions. Participate in the festivities and spend the holiday with your fellow citizens.
HISTORY OF AMERIGO VESPUCCI DAY On March 2, 1959, Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller of New York declared this holiday. This day was set aside to commemorate Amerigo Vespucci’s birth anniversary on March 9. Rockefeller considered it vital to celebrate this day, as Vespucci gave his name to the two continents of America. He was one of the first Europeans to travel to the Western Hemisphere allowing the rest of the globe access to a new land.
The Governor proclaimed Vespucci as someone in whom everyone can take pride, regardless of where they came from. According to Rockefeller, Vespucci’s spirit is admirable and has an exceptional attraction. The mariner sailed all the way south down the coast of South America, facing unforeseen hurdles, at a time when going around the world was not a luxury. In his honor, Rockefeller urged the people of New York “to participate in all suitable observances of the occasion”.
This holiday was established to honor Vespucci and his contributions to American heritage and culture. Isn’t it amazing how a piece of the map gave our country global recognition and provided a home for thousands of people? Vespucci’s historic expedition in 1501 landed him at modern-day Rio de Janeiro. After returning home, he chose to keep track of his travels in the form of letters to his friend, Lorenzo Medici. We now have some evidence of his investigations and discoveries thanks to those letters.
Although many people credit Columbus with discovering America, it was Vespucci who affirmed the existence of a new land that was not part of Asia. Several folks proposed that Columbus Day be replaced by this holiday in order to honor the person who found our country.

World Kidney Day – March 10, 2022~International
The world commemorates World Kidney Day on March 10 to raise awareness about the various kidney diseases that exist and how they can affect one’s life. The human body requires a kidney to function properly and without a healthy one, even the simplest of tasks become a dire task. As a result, hundreds of events are held around the world on this day to raise awareness about kidney health. This includes things like public screenings, seminars, and marathons, among other things. The goal is to raise awareness about kidney health and how people can live a long and disease-free life.
HISTORY OF WORLD KIDNEY DAY Civilizations were aware of the existence of kidneys in the human body even before science had reached the status it has today. This is why kidneys are mentioned in the bible more than 30 times. According to Professor Garabed Eknoyan, the organ represents emotions, desire, and wisdom. The Egyptian Ebers Papyrus contains an ancient description of the kidneys. Georg Ebers, a German Egypiantologist, discovered this dating back to 1550 B.C. This account is significant because it includes observations made by ancient physicians. Surprisingly, it also includes images of human mummies with conditions like renal cysts and stones.
The discovery of kidneys at such an early point in time is understandable, given how important the organ is in the healthy functioning of a human body.
World Kidney Day was established in 2006 to raise awareness about the importance of kidneys. The International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations (IFKF) collaborated to create the day, which serves as a global campaign to raise awareness about the importance of kidney health. The day also highlights the prevalence of kidney diseases and the importance of maintaining optimal kidney health. Other goals of the day include emphasizing the importance of diabetes and high blood pressure as risk factors for Chronic Kidney Disease (C.K.D.), as well as encouraging systematic C.K.D. screening of all diabetic and hypertensive patients.
On World Kidney Day, all governments are encouraged to take action and invest in additional kidney screening, lab values, and hospitalizations rates with reimbursements being affected positively or negatively if targets are not met. Protocol developments by insurers and hospital systems and guidelines have reinforced the emphasis on data. This year’s theme reframes kidney disease care as improving outcomes so that patients can continue to participate in their lives. The theme also emphasizes that meeting laboratory goals and adhering to protocols does not imply that the patient is being properly cared for.

National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day – March 10, 2022~U.S.
National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is observed annually on March 10. It is a day set aside to empower people globally, with knowledge and information regarding HIV/AIDS, with particular emphasis on the frequently unnoticed impact it has on women and girls. On this day, partners and supporters conduct events, participate in online campaigns and use their voices to educate other women and girls about HIV/AIDS prevention and care.
HISTORY OF NATIONAL WOMEN AND GIRLS HIV/AIDS AWARENESS DAY Human immunodeficiency viruses (HIV) are types of retroviruses that infect humans. They affect sick people by weakening their immune systems, making them more vulnerable to diseases and cancers that people with healthy immune systems can fight off
HIV was first discovered in humans in the 20th century but is known to have originated in certain non-human primates such as chimpanzees and gorillas. Several theories of its genesis accept the existing knowledge of the HIV/SIV (simian immunodeficiency virus) phylogenetic relationships, as well as the fact that bushmeat was the most likely cause of the virus’s early transmission to humans.
HIV can be spread through the exchange of a variety of bodily fluids between infected individuals, as well as from mother to child during pregnancy and delivery. Practicing safe sex and not sharing sharp items that could cut the skin are examples of behaviors and conditions that enhance the chance of contracting HIV and taking precautions against them.
All around the world, people living with HIV/AIDS are regularly stigmatized and discriminated against. However, numerous programs have been created to raise public awareness in order to diminish and eventually eliminate this trend.
Since 2005, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health (O.W.H.) has coordinated and held an annual HIV/AIDS awareness day to bring federal and community organizations together to raise awareness, offer support, and share information about the importance of HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment.

Histotechnology Professionals Day – March 10, 2022~United States
Histotechnology Professionals Day, held annually on March 10, is a celebration of this particular branch of science and the professionals working in it. Centering around the microscopic study of plant, animal, and human tissues to help detect abnormalities, histotechnology is a crucial process for diagnosing illness and suggesting treatments. This day is mainly dedicated to those heroic warriors in the lab, without whom disease identification might have been impossible. Histotechnology Professionals Day is currently celebrated by histotechnologists around the world and is an officially recognized day in several U.S. states.
HISTORY OF HISTOTECHNOLOGY PROFESSIONALS DAY People have always been interested in what makes the human body tick, so it’s no surprise that the study of human tissues began as early as the 15th century. Italian biologist Marcello Malpighi (1628 — 1694), is recognized as the founder of histology and microscopic anatomy. As a physician, he used microscopes to study the organs and tissues of bats, frogs, and other animals, eventually describing the hair-like connections between the veins, arteries, and capillaries in his 1661 book, “De Pulmonibus.”
By the 19th century, histology — called the study of the ‘finer structures’ (also known as tissues and cells) of animals, plants, and humans — had become a separate academic discipline. French anatomist Xavier Bichat, described as the father of modern histology, accurately visualized and introduced the concept of ’tissues’ as the elements that link our organs and developed a medical treatise in the 1800s, called “Traité des membranes,” notably without the help of a microscope. This breakthrough was followed by further experimentation and discovery. Members of the scientific community developed various techniques to effectively study tissues, using freezing, drying, and other methods to obtain the best image under a microscope.
Subsequent innovation has brought us to today’s histological world, where scientists and histologists are developing non-invasive ways to collect information about human tissues. The world of histology has undergone a significant transformation since the point in history when microscopes were the height of invention — but the core of this field remains the same — helping find answers in the cells and tissues of plants, animals, and humans.

International Day of Awesomeness – March 10, 2022~International
International Day of Awesomeness, celebrated on March 10 every year, is a day where anybody, no matter who they are, may celebrate their awesomeness. Yes, we all possess qualities that make us awesome in some way. So today, let go of any insecurities and prepare to give yourself the praise you deserve. No one is perfect, to be sure. Everyone, on the other hand, is amazing in their way. All you have to do is spotlight one of your qualities and concentrate on what makes it so special. Use this day to share the joy by telling others how wonderful they are!
HISTORY OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF AWESOMENESS The word ‘awesomeness’ has many positive meanings. For example, it may refer to a remarkable quality in a person’s personality. At the same time, it denotes a quality that inspires others’ awe. As a result, it’s no surprise that this term is overused nowadays.
International Day of Awesomeness is a fun event that manages to spread positivity because it is held at a time of year that focuses on celebrating awesome people. You might wonder how someone becomes awesome. Well, an awesome person is someone who is impressive, terrifying, or inspiring. This is the story of how the day came to be.
The International Day of Awesomeness was first observed in 2008 by Kevin Lawver, the day’s creator. Lawver came up with the idea for this celebration while working with an intern named Freddie Maneiro. The intern had suggested that “Lawver’s awesomeness needs to be celebrated,” so the day was announced on Twitter. Since then, the trend has gained traction and is now celebrated on a global scale. Furthermore, Dan Lurie polished the concept by coming up with the catchy tagline, “Because everyone needs an excuse to be awesome.”
Later on, Lawver’s daughter also came up with an inspirational new tagline, “No one’s perfect, but everyone can be awesome.”
The date was also chosen because it falls on Chuck Norris’s birthday — a man who is renowned for his awesomeness! So, regardless of who you are or what you do, use this day to pat yourself for simply existing and being awesome!

Nametag Day – March 10, 2022~United States
People celebrate Nametag Day on the first Thursday in March, which is on March 10 this year, by — you guessed it — wearing name tags. On this day, people become more human and pay more attention to the people who pass by them or who they pass by every day. With over seven billion people in the world, it can be easy to feel alone and small. Nametag Day allows everyone to be in the spotlight a little. On Nametag Day, you’re not a nameless Joe passing by in the neighborhood. Instead, when you pass by, everyone knows your name and connects with you, which is the whole aim of Nametag Day.
HISTORY OF NAMETAG DAY Every year, on the Thursday of Celebrate Your Name Week, Nametag Day is celebrated. The event began in 1997, when Jerry Hills, a well-known American onomatologist, founded the week. Hills understood the roles names play in our everyday lives and felt that they were not given the attention they deserve. This is why we have Nametag Day, a day to celebrate names by calling people by the names on their tags. Hills wanted people to meet and connect with each other, learn more about families and communities, and have fun while it.
The purpose of Nametag Day is to get people to socialize and connect. A name tag is a badge or label that displays the name of the wearer. Hills was inquisitive about names and believed that people should not live within the same environment for years without knowing each other.
Calling people by their first names can create a sense of connection, familiarity, and eventually, community. A name tag is in itself a type of ice breaker — it serves as an introduction, and people can pick it up from there. The more people are involved in Nametag Day, the higher the chance of creating true communities. Perhaps if everyone wore name tags, like an episode of the T.V. series, “Seinfeld,” suggested, then we would have better friendships, firmer relationships, and more human people. Maybe this way, the world can one day become a true global village.

International Bagpipe Day – March 10, 2022~International
International Bagpipe Day is held annually on March 10. Can you believe that bagpipes date back to 400 B.C., and are thought to have originated from Egypt, with the first players known as pipers of Thebes? Bagpipes are distinct and unique musical instruments that hold a special place in certain parts of Europe, such as Scotland and Ireland.
HISTORY OF INTERNATIONAL BAGPIPE DAY A bagpipe is a type of woodwind instrument that consists of several parts including the air supply blowpipe, the bag, the chanter, the chanter reed, and the drone or drones. The chanter is the melody pipe that can be played by the piper, whereas the drone or drones provide a constant note. It has a long and rich history that dates back to ancient Rome and Egypt.
In the early part of the second millennium, clear evidence of bagpipes began to appear frequently in Western European art and iconography. They were also popular subjects for carvers of wooden choir stalls throughout Europe in the late 15th century and early 16th century.
Andy Letcher and Cassandre Balosso-Bardin co-founded International Bagpipe Day with the International Bagpipe Organization and the Bagpipe Society. Since 1986, the Bagpipe Society has been actively involved in bringing together new bagpipe players in order to preserve the history and practice of bagpipes. Cassandre came up with the idea of organizing a bagpipe conference as part of his efforts to promote the diversity of bagpipes to a wider audience.
The First International Bagpipe Conference, which gathered musicians and instrument makers from all over Europe, launched International Bagpipe Day worldwide. Thousands of pipers around the world now celebrate the day every year, with many local pipers organizing events in places such as Harvard (U.S.), Glasgow (U.K.), Haninge (Sweden), Minsk (Belarus), Iran, and Nigeria.

Mario Day – March 10, 2022~World
We celebrate Mario Day on March 10 each year, because March 10, written as “Mar10”, looks like Mario’s name. The friendly mustached Mario character was initially released by Nintendo in 1985 — doesn’t that make you feel old? Since then, Mario has appeared in around 200 different games, and the Mario games have claimed the title of the best selling video game series in history, beating out popular competitors, like Pokemon.
HISTORY OF MARIO DAY Mario Day has been occurring on March 10 every year for the last decade, give or take. Though the exact origin year is unknown, fans have been celebrating before Nintendo officially embraced the holiday in 2016. When Nintendo officially embraced the holiday and started celebrating annually, they began promoting new and old games, offering special deals and discounts, and started hosting Mario-themed events, as well as promoting sales on some of their games.
Mario’s debut game was Donkey Kong, released by Nintendo in 1981. The design for the animated character was created by critically acclaimed Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, who also created Super Mario, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, and Starfox. The Mario Bros video games were so successful, a movie adaptation of the game, titled “Mario Bros”, was released in 1993, but it was a flop, both commercially and with audiences. This was one of the first attempts to recreate a video game into a movie.
With each iteration, the Mario series has done its best to always focus on keeping it’s gameplay fun, yet challenging, making it addictive to people of all ages. The U.S. version of Super Mario Bros. 2 is also one of the earliest games to feature a playable female, Princess Peach, in its roster of 4 selectable characters. The Mario series of games and spin offs, are timeless with each game featuring new adventures to try or new challenges to beat, even encouraging players to play with a group of friends

Popcorn Lover's Day – March 10, 2022~U.S.
Popcorn Lover’s Day, celebrated on the second Thursday in March, is a dream come true for all popcorn fans. Do you want to know how? Because you get to eat your favorite snack all day! This means you can choose any taste you want. Salted popcorn, buttered popcorn, caramel corn, and even kettle corn are examples of this. The goal is to consume anything and everything that appeals to you. So, what are you holding out for? Begin popping your favorite snack with friends and and start nibbling right away. Make sure that the day is one you will remember for years to come.
HISTORY OF POPCORN LOVER'S DAY Popcorn is a snack that has been around for thousands of years. It may be traced back to the Native Americans since the oldest popcorn discovered is over 4000 years old. Around 1948, the oldest popcorn was discovered in a bat cave in West-Central New Mexico. However, popcorn served numerous functions at the time. Due to their cultural worth, they were ingested, used to decorate headdresses and deity images, and were even discovered in South American burial sites in Chile. Some Native Americans thought that spirits resided among popcorn kernels, became enraged when roasted, and then fled. It’s safe to say, the ‘popping’ sound is responsible for the narrated superstition.
When the region was colonized, popcorn was known as ‘parching corn,’ ‘rice corn,’ and ‘popped corn.’ In the 1820s, the term popcorn was devised. It was not only eaten but it was also used to decorate the Christmas tree. While organically cooked popcorn had its advantages, it did not gain popularity or develop a distinct flavor until it was marketed.
Cracker Jack began selling popcorn in 1896, and it quickly became a staple at all baseball games. Following that, the mobile popcorn machine was invented. Popcorn became a mainstay at fairs, parks, and streets as a result of the innovation. Popcorn was also quite cheap, and people could buy it even during difficult times like the Great Depression.
In the early 1950s, as television became more popular, fewer people went to the theaters, and less popcorn was consumed. Percy Spencer found that microwave popcorn could be made, and by the early 1980s, numerous companies were making microwave popcorn. Golden Valley Foods was one of the first to make it in 1971.

National Ranch Day – March 10, 2022~U.S.
For National Ranch Day on March 10, you should put Ranch on everything. We mean it. Everything. Because honestly, what dish isn’t made better by Ranch? Fries? Absolutely. Sandwiches? You bet. Ice cream? Okay, maybe. For today only, calories don’t count and the only law of the land is Ranch. Round up some friends for a Ranch taste test to determine the superior Ranch, try your hand at some new Ranch-inclusive recipes, or just use the iconic hashtag #RanchEverything.
HISTORY OF NATIONAL RANCH DAY Hidden Valley claims to have created the first Ranch back in 1954, on its dude ranch in the mountains outside of Barbara – pretty idyllic for the birth of the one true dressing. Legend has it that plumber-turned-cowboy Hidden Valley rancher Steve Henson first established the ranch and cooked for his guests, covering his meals with a tantalizing mix of buttermilk and herbs.
Steve began to package his dressing and send it off with guests, but the demand became unmanageable. Eventually, Ranch hit Southwestern supermarkets and then traversed the nation, forcing the production of the heavenly liquid to be moved to a larger facility in Sparks, Nevada. Gone were the days of the home-style seasoning packets handed out to friends and neighbors to be mixed with buttermilk and mayo.
In 1972, Clorox bought Hidden Valley Ranch dressing for $8 million, and Kraft Foods and General Foods were quickly hit with lawsuits for trying to create their own Ranch varieties. While staving off copycats, Clorox was hard at work revamping the recipe to exclude expensive buttermilk and developing a pantry-friendly bottled version that required no refrigeration.
The varieties of Ranch and methods of consumption proliferated into the 1980s. Soon, Ranch lovers were snacking on Cool Ranch Doritos and Hidden Valley Ranch Wavy Lay’s chips, while children were given the option of taco or pizza-flavored Ranch dressings. Even dry Ranch-flavored seasoning was shaken on popcorn nationwide. Many companies, like Ken’s, Kraft, Newman’s Own, and Marie’s, threw their names into the Ranch ring since Hidden Valley originated the condiment, and we’re all the better off for it.
Ranch is one of the most popular and best-selling dressings in the United States and Canada and routinely rises above the salad from whence it came. With increasing levels of creativity, people are constantly innovating Ranch-centric dishes and concoctions – from adding it to fried vegetables to fried cheesecake (we’re not sure about that one). We think Ranch deserves all the credit it’s going to receive on this special day!

Paper Money Day – March 10, 2022~United States
Paper Money Day is celebrated on the anniversary of the day the first United States Notes (or Legal Tender Notes) were issued in the United States — March 10 every year. On this day, we commemorate the United States’ longest-running paper currency. Of course, the notes have been modified and updated throughout time, but they helped to establish the foundation for the paper dollars we use today. If you still have one of the original 1962 notes, you’re holding a priceless piece of American history.
HISTORY OF PAPER MONEY DAY The history of paper money in the United States is a little complicated. While the first legal tender notes were issued in 1862, paper money existed before then. During King William’s War, on February 3, 1690, the first paper money was printed in Massachusetts to fund military action. However, that money was merely a bill of credit — “IOU” from the colony to the soldiers. In 1775, Congress tried to replicate this on a wider scale, but this failed due to rapid inflation.
In the 1860s, there emerged two forms of emergency paper currency – Demand Notes, which were issued in 1861, and United States Notes which were issued in 1862. During the American Civil War, these notes were used to pay for expenses. The Demand Notes were non-redeemable and began to lose value.
Of the two, it was the United States Note that became authorized as federal currency by the First Legal Tender Act, which was signed by President Abraham Lincoln and enacted on February 1862. On March 10, 1862, the first United States Notes were issued, which is why we celebrate Paper Money Day on this said date.
Of course, before paper money, there were other methods of exchanging value, with trade by barter being perhaps the oldest. From barter, we transitioned into coins, with the Chinese being the first to use an object resembling the modern-day coin. They were also the first to move from coins to paper money in 700 B.C.

Harriet Tubman Day – March 10, 2022~United States
Harriet Tubman Day is celebrated on March 10 every year. If you’ve never heard of Harriet Tubman, she was a former slave who fought tirelessly to free other slaves by assisting them in fleeing their captors. Tubman is celebrated all around the United States, especially in Maryland and New York, two states, which held great significance in her life. She is most commonly known for the underground railroad which refers to the network of safe houses she used to help slaves escape. Harriet Tubman Day is a day to remember the heroic actions of this great woman and honor her work by fighting racism wherever you see it.
HISTORY OF HARRIET TUBMAN DAY Harriet Tubman Day was enacted as a national holiday in 1990 by the United States Congress as a way to celebrate the heroic work of Tubman towards the abolishment of slavery and freedom of slaves. The holiday was adopted into law by the U.S. Senate on March 6, 1990, passed through the House of Representatives the next day, and proclaimed as a holiday by then-president, George Bush, on March 9 in the same year.
While the specific details about Harriet Tubman’s date of birth are widely unknown or unconfirmed, we do know that she was born in March sometime between 1820 and 1822 to Benjamin Ross and Harriet Green. She was born on a plantation in Dorchester Country in New Maryland. She was originally named Araminta ‘Minty’ Ross, but soon after her first marriage, she changed her name to Harriet Tubman.
Tubman’s courage can be traced as far back as when she was an adolescent. She ran away often, fought back, and wore layers of clothing to protect herself from beatings. Her mother was also known for fighting back. Tubman’s mother once told a slave trader who wanted to take her son “you are after my son; but the first man that comes into my house, I will split his head open.”
In 1849, she became a free woman after escaping from the plantation. After her escape, she spent most of her life fighting for others and strategizing ways to help more slaves secure their freedom. She worked odd jobs and saved money to help free other slaves.
Over the years, she helped about 70 slaves escape and she never lost passengers.

Worship of Tools Day – March 11, 2022~U.S.
Worship of Tools Day is celebrated annually on March 11. Tools are really the unsung heroes. Unfortunately, we don’t give them enough commendation. There are so many different types of tools, and this day is meant to worship each one of them. Upgrade them, organize them, or buy new ones. They come super handy when you need to build or fix something.
HISTORY OF WORSHIP OF TOOLS DAY We wonder who created this constructive holiday dedicated to the worshipping of tools. It most definitely has to be someone very passionate about their tool kit. In ancient times, humans were able to build tools as simple as knives from rocks. In fact, the screwdriver can be traced to the 1400s. However, with the advent of technology, there is a surge in the creation of modern tools that can almost do a job as good as a machine.
A tool is essentially a physical object used to fix or build a thing, and it’s hard to imagine a world without tools as part of our daily lives. Right from a hammer, screwdriver, or wrench — these tools are essential. However, it is important to keep them clean and sharpened because, when frequently used, they can get blunt or rusted and may not be of any use. It is even important to have a good tool kit to keep the tools in place. Many times we even see construction workers carrying around tool kits on sites.
Many tool enthusiasts know a good tool when they see one and have their preferred brand or style. Tool lovers end up having an extensive collection of tools, and it’s almost like a hobby. There is even a code in tool borrowing and loaning as they often don’t get returned. This phenomenon has been picked up by many sitcoms and shown humorously from time to time.
With the ever-growing need for tools in our home, it’s only right that there is a day dedicated to worshipping these objects that play a significant role in our lives.

World Plumbing Day – March 11, 2022~International
World Plumbing Day is celebrated on March 11 annually to honor the critical role that plumbing plays in societal health. Plumbing is, after all, the reason that our cities and towns are so clean. Without proper plumbing, all the human defecation and waste would remain in the city. This would not only render an area unhabitual due to the foul smell but would also result in the spread of fatal diseases that may put an end to life as we know it. Therefore, on this day, the occasion is marked with events across the world to highlight the importance of good plumbing and sanitation.
HISTORY OF WORLD PLUMBING DAY Plumbing is so important to the world that Albert Einstein is claimed to have declared that if he could do it all over again, he would become a plumber. Plumbing is, without a doubt, a vital component of every contemporary and developed city. It is critical because a town or cities plumbing must be chosen before any architectural plans are drawn.
A town’s plumbing and sanitation plans must also be carefully considered, as the future of any place is determined by how well thought out the plumbing system is. Since 2010, World Plumbing Day has been observed to recognize the importance of plumbing across the world.
The World Plumbing Council is in charge of naming the day, with the goal of promoting the relationship between excellent plumbing, health, environmental sustainability, and, increasingly, economic prosperity. The World Bank has acknowledged the importance of plumbing. It is regarded as the most cost-effective of all health treatments, according to them.
The World Plumbing Council has pushed for more adequately trained workers to enter the plumbing business. If the plumbers fail to provide quality services, they will be held accountable. Trained personnel can provide immediate and modern solutions that can improve the overall sanitation system. This is essential because about a thousand children under the age of 5, die every year from water-borne diarrheal diseases caused by open defecation near waterways. As a result, festivals, tournaments, lectures, and events are held all around the world on March 11 to raise awareness.

National Promposal Day – March 11, 2022~U.S.
Get out your hot glue gun, because it’s National Promposal Day on March 11! The promposal, the act of asking your boo to prom in a super elaborate way, was first invented in 2001 (as far as we can tell. Promposal history can get a little fuzzy). And, while the promposal has been around forever, National Promposal Day was officially established by Men’s Wearhouse in 2016. As Certified Promposal Enthusiasts™, we’re personally ecstatic to have a day where the tiny little romantics of the world are celebrated! Rock on, high schoolers, rock on.
