I grew up in Napa and spent most of my childhood rooting for: *San Francisco 49ers, the Joe Montana era. I cried when he was traded to the Chiefs which is probably why, 30 years later, I can't stand them! *Oakland A's, simply because of their team colors. I was a girly girl and didn't like black so I didn't follow the Giants. LOL
Now I love the San Francisco Giants and since we're in Colorado, we get the MLB package every year to watch them! Baseball is love!
Football is not but I still root for the Niners. I basically pull for any Bay Area team but the Giants are the team we make the effort to watch on TV and see games when they come to Denver!
Anyone else?

lisabella , Go Birds! (anyone but the Chiefs) I had 3 boys who all played football. My husband was a coach so I basically didn't understand what was going on and all the other moms just came there to gossip, like they didn't get enough of that during practice every night. Then my dad started coming to the games on Saturday no matter where they played (& we were there all day because my 1st two boys are 11 months & two weeks apart, then I had to work the concession stand after the two back to back games, followed by my youngest son's game) My dad taught me so much about football while we sat on the bleachers for hours, once I understood what everything meant I really got into football! I still don't know how he knew what plays they were going make every single time on pro football, or how he knew a flag would be thrown and why every time? PS my dad loved the concession stand hotdogs for some odd reason too Cheering I miss those days :(

pennmom, I never caught on to the rules of football when I watched as a kid (age ?-15). And I went to my high school's football games on Fridays. At some point I realized I didn't like the sport much and stopped paying attention. I'm a hometown lover, though, so I'll cheer just about any team on! But if the Niners are in the postseason, we will watch the games and sometimes I'll watch during the regular season, too, but not always. My husband and I have worked together to figure out penalties and whatnot! Ask me about baseball or soccer or hockey! Even basketball, my dad coached high school girls forever. But football? Half the time I have no idea where the ball is, the fake hand off gets me every single time. LOL

Although I lived in SF and my two children were born at (what was then) Children's hospital on California Street. Iwas born in Philly and have always been A Phillies, Eagles and 76ers fan. But I do love the Niners too. We lived there during the Montana years (moved to the East Bay for the Young years). How I ended up in Panthers territory I'll never understand lol

smitty189, I was rooting for a meteor yesterday but when I saw the Eagles were ahead, I did get excited even though they bumped the Niners out. pennmom, I couldn't believe. Mahomies (misspelled on purpose), again.
