This is a pretty common issue with games, as not every game offers a player profile creation option. It's also possible for your game save progress to get corrupted - I once had the power go out while playing a game and it completely ruined my progress for me when I tried to go back to it later. If the game does not have a thing for you to type in a new player name, the way to wipe your saved game data is this:
On a PC:
1) Go to the filepath C: > Users > [your username on your PC] > AppData > Roaming > [game name]
1a) If you can't find a folder with the game name, look for a folder with the developer's name instead. Under the developer folder, should be another folder with the game name.
1b) If there is no folder of either the developer name or the game name, check this filepath instead: C: > Users > [your username on your PC] > AppData > LocalLow > [game name]. If there is no game name folder there, then there is probably a developer name folder instead and you go to the developer name folder and look in it for a game name folder.
2) Delete the game name folder. If you are afraid of doing this, you can just rename the folder to something else. Do NOT alter or delete a developer's name folder or you will lose all your progress from every game you own by that developer!
3) The next time you open your game, it will be like you've never played it before.
4) If you can't see your AppData folder, it's because Windows has it hidden. You have to go to your folder view options to unhide it, which if you need help on how to do that, please post.
On a Mac: I dug around in the ancient, creaky BF forums for a few games I know also have this same "no player profile" thing, and found these posts from 2 Mac users. These posts date back to 2017, so if Apple has done some major changes to their OS since then, you may have to Google for how to do it now.

First, it is easy to reveal the hidden files - just open the Finder, click using shift-command-period, and the Library will appear greyed out. Click on it, and find Application Support. Then the [insert game name] folder. I trashed the whole thing. Toggled the files back hidden. Opened the game and it worked! Hope this is helpful to another Mac user.

1. Open Finder.
2. Press Shift+Command+Period to "turn on" hidden files (so you can see them).
3. Navigate to the following path: Macintosh HD/Users/<your user name here>/Library/Application Support/[game name].
4. Rename the game name folder to something else.(*see note below)
5. Press Shift+Command+Period to turn hidden files back off and close finder
6. Open the game and it will start over with a new profile.
*Note, you can probably delete the folder, but I renamed it to be safe...I reopened the game and it started fine as if I was a new player, so probably it could be safely deleted.
