I am just curious of a roundabout number of games you own through BFG only. I realized yesterday that since 2010 I have accumulated 340 games - which I know may be more than some, less than others, lol. But my friend told me that was ridiculous and I also realized I've probably spent a small fortune over the last 10 years on games.
Feel free to share! =)

I have about 900 on my first BFG account...and due to a bug that used to shut down the GM if you went over 1000...I opened another account
I have about 200 on my second account. I don't buy from a lot of other sites...so they add up. I just switch between both accounts to retrieve my games to play.
(that's why on my old reviews I was joybelle_1. Then I had to swap to joybelle_2)

(Gulp) 443 for me, though my rate of purchase has slowed considerably since my very first buy of Mystery Case Files: Huntsville way back in 2009.
Since I try to buy mainly on sale or via BOGOs and usually only SEs and not CEs, my net contribution to BFG's bottom line, according to my little spreadsheet, has been about $1300, which doesnt seem too bad given the number of hours of entertainment I've gotten in return. Steam & Gog are getting way more of my purchase dollars these days.

This is what it says when I pull up my purchase history at BF: Holy sh.... cow! How did that happen?
As to the rest, Steam, GOG, Gamehouse, Itch, Amazon Games and straight from devs like TellTale, I prefer not to discuss my personal and private affairs in public she says in an attempt to avoid the truth! (Guess that makes me a chicken like pennmom too.)

A little over 1400 here. I used to buy every collector's edition. Quit doing that when hubby retired but I still have a bunch. I'd say at least 90 percent of those are either HOPA or hidden object. I started with Huntsville. Hubby bought it thinking I'd like it. Thought it looked silly but played it just so I could say I had and here we are 1400 games later!

According to my spreadsheet I have 751 from BFG since I joined in 2009 (and approx. 25 games from other sites). However, according to BFG archive I have 897 - they are flat-out wrong. There are a ton of doubles listed now since the changes. I swear, it's like they fired everyone who knew how to make the website/company run correctly! How do you go from a website that works quite well to such a freakin' mess?! Ripping Hair Out Hmm...maybe Elon took over BFG and we just didn't know it...only explanation I can come up with. Bat To Computer Anyway... Like lurkercat I have been careful not to give BFG too much of my money and have rarely paid more than 1/2 price for most of my games. I'm pretty patient and just keep a list of what I want to buy and wait for BOGOs or Daily Deals usually. But also, like lurkercat I see it in terms of the hours I've gotten for my money and it's been a darn good investment. It's a carefully planned part of my entertainment budget so it's all good. Frankly, it's also therapy and pain-management and way cheaper at that! ;)

BFG: 49 (all installed) Gametop: 55 (all installed), all free EA Origin: 31 (12 installed) Ubisoft Connect: 46 (19 installed) Epic Games: 370 (24 installed), I only bought maybe two or three games here, the rest were free Steam: 924 (465 installed) CD, DVD, online e-shops: several hundred, from earlier times (since 1995)
…and Minecraft, where I have played the most time, thousands and thousands of hours.

…I just switch between both accounts to retrieve my games to play. I'll let you in on a little secret. You don't need to have the BFG client running to play BFG games, just start any BFG game by clicking on *exe in its directory. Or create a shortcut (on your desktop, for example) to *exe and run the game directly by clicking on the shortcut.

I'm a frugal person...
1 or 2 games from WildTangent ~150 from BFG 42 at Steam
Will confess to having bought way more games at Steam in the 1 year I've been there than in the past 13 years at WT and BFG, but I pretty much buy only when games are on sale or if they are already really cheap. Per my Steam showcase, I'm a hardcore completionist so don't want or need to buy lots of games anyway.

BFG: 783 (not buying from anymore - waaay too expensive!)
Steam: 921 (I'm a Steam member since 2021!) I'm after 70-90% on sale games and bundles.
Most of these games are not played yet - sigh. All of these games are downloaded and installed on an ED, total storage they required so far is over 2.2 TB. Unfortunately, I have a good 50-80 games I've enjoyed playing, so instead of playing my new games, I'm replaying those 50-80 multiple times. I'm hopeless...

As you write about game prices here, I realize that I've probably never bought (Steam, BFG, etc.) a game at full price. I usually put a game I want on my wishlist on isthereanydeal.com/ and if it's really at an interesting discount, I get it. On the other hand, even if I NEVER buy another game, I have enough that I would NEVER suffer from a "gaming drought… ;-)

If only we could share games, we'd never have to pay again and we'd probably have a huge variety to choose from! Cheers Mate

On the other hand, even if I NEVER buy another game, I have enough that I would NEVER suffer from a "gaming drought… ;-) I've been through a game drought mostly thanks to the advent of console gaming. I'm an old adventure game player. In the early 2000s, adventure games were hard to find and you had to buy physical copies of them. That's how I ended up at BFG. My sister recommended it to me. HOPAs were close enough to adventure games to satisfy the itch. If only we could share games, we'd never have to pay again and we'd probably have a huge variety to choose from! Speaking of my sister, we shared our BFG passwords so I played all the games in her library and she played all the games in mine. All I had to do was sign into the BF GM with her email address and password to download her games to my computer. My oldest daughter had my BF password and me hers, too. My sister just got a new computer and I gave her my password again. She hadn't gamed in a long time and wanted to try it again. I wouldn't refuse her anything but certainly never anything game related. She loaned me my first adventure game, Sam & Max Hit the Road, and started me on this road to delight. We never got caught and we never regretted it.

I don't honestly know. I have the Error 1400 curse, so it must be a lot. Last year when the prices jumped to an insane level, pennmom convinced me to try Steam (and kindly gifted me a game to get me started).
Now I'm hooked. Thank goodness for bundles and sales.
I have a friend at Civilization Fanatics (forum dedicated to the Civilization game) who sends me links to Steam games that have to do with cats.
As for Big Effing Gougers... I'll only be using my points for stuff like Park Rangers (any word on when the next one is coming out?) or maybe Jewel Match (depends on who has the better deal for the CE).
I honestly doubt we'll ever see Cruise Director 8. It's been in "storyboard" status for 3 years, so I guess I'm just going to have to imagine Mike and Emma's wedding (he proposed to her in #7).

Well, if someone shares an email and password, especially family, I don't see an issue with that, no one is stealing games, they were all paid for so what's the difference from when they used to send you the CD that could be given to anyone? If someone is stealing games from a company without paying for them, it's a different ballgame, but sharing a paid game with Kinfolk doesn't seem wrong.

You used to be able to do that on Steam as well, but with the new Steam client update now asking for a Steam Guard code every time don't think it's possible anymore unless you have either the phone or email login of the other person's account. It also used to be possible to "borrow" games from another user's account but they took that out too.

I don't have to enter a steam guard on my client, just the website, but I don't log out of the game client either

Thanks for that info sisinka. Per moni's comment though, it does sound pretty complicated, and if the owner of the library is online and wants to play the same game you're "borrowing", they can't or else you get kicked off and have to buy your own copy for your library. If you enable the family sharing function, your entire library except for games having some kind of 3rd party function gets shared to the people you allowed sharing with and you can enable sharing for up to 10 people, so I can see how this could get really messy. Or if you have games in your library you don't want everyone seeing, gets embarrassing?
