Best Game of 2022. Vote for three (3). I had a terrible time editing this poll. It's Justin Wack and the Big Time Hack and New Yankee - Battle for the Bride.

Jo, Everyone knows it's my favorite anyway I have been waiting since 2011, maybe I should just write my own freakin script?

Jo for your efforts in compiling this poll and all the relevant information! I'm sure it took you a lot of work!
Hats off to you!

Jo , Everyone knows it's my favorite anyway I have been waiting since 2011, maybe I should just write my own freakin script? Why do you think I decided to turn King's Heir: Rise to the Throne into a novel that got away from me (a wealth of ideas and characters that demand to be written about) and is now basically a series that includes at least 4 different variations on how the story could have gone after the old king is murdered? I didn't just go into sequel territory, either. That royal lineage puzzle gave me a ton of information and ideas for half a dozen generations' worth of prequel material, not to mention writing material for what happened to the "off-screen" characters while the onscreen pov player was busy trotting around town fiddling around with various hidden objects and puzzles. If you want to write a continuation of your favorite games, go for it. It's looking like Cruise Director 8 will never be finished, so if Mike and Emma are going to get married and we ever get to know what's going on with the Captain, both cruise directors, plus the woman and girl in the photo on his desk, I'm going to have to write it myself. If I do, it's going to involve time-traveling spies. At least.

Oh my goodness. Picking just one in Oldie But Goody is way too hard. Like choosing which one of my (umm, non-existent) children I like best! Do I take the one that gave me the longest play time (41 hours!) but thoroughly stumped me frequently & forced me to resort to a walkthrough, or the one that I was able to solve all on my own(!) but made my brain work really really hard, or the one that constantly delighted me with different & original challenges & made me feel "oh so clever" when I FINALLY figured them out?? Oh, decisions, decisions. Eventually I'll be able to figure out one of them to vote for (well, maybe!), but till then I just keep changing my mind over and over. P.S. Jo - at the end, will we be able to see the total results even in categories we did not vote in? I didnt play any of the games in some categories, but when I do get around to certain genres, I definitely want to start with the winners in our poll!

I didnt play any of the games in some categories, but when I do get around to certain genres, I definitely want to start with the winners in our poll! I figured I leave it up for a few days - maybe a week in case anyone is finishing up a game - and then post the results. You can see the results by clicking "Results". If you voted in that poll, it will stay on results when you reopen the page but it updates itself with each new vote. If you haven't voted in a poll it will revert to allow you to vote when you reopen the page. Does that make sense? Seems very convoluted.
I only nominated one game, Sand Captivity, and it was easy because it's the only new HOPA I played in 2022 and, of course, it was the best. Choosing between adventure games I played last year was impossible so no nominations and I haven't played any of the choices in that category although I own all of them. Voting is always really hard and the analogy of choosing between your children is a good one.

I definitely want to start with the winners in our poll! Meow Express looks hilarious! It almost makes me want to join Steam
Those are both excellent points. If we don't accomplish anything else with this maybe someone has piqued someone else's interest in a genre or a game. Ya know, the whole planting seeds thing.

Valkara , Dont know if it's true, but post in the shoutbox at Pond Friends says "Thursday's BFG CE game will be a HOP Game: Casual Arts: Vacation Adventures Cruise Director 8: Grand Tour USA Collector's Edition Sorry no HOPA this week " If true, I'd be happy, though a cruise around the USA sounds a bit weird. What are they going to do, winch up Liberty of the Waves and put wheels on it? Just cruise around the coast of the part of North America that contains the U.S.? A quick trip to Hawaii and back? So much for the devs telling me they wanted to hold Mike and Emma's wedding reception on shore at some exotic place (I think they cited somewhere in Africa, like a park)? I'd have to check my emails. I'm really picky about what I get from BFG now. It's limited to the stuff I really like - Vacation Adventures, Jewel Match, Hercules, Spellarium/Cursed House/Laruaville, and maybe the rescue games (depends on what prices Steam has). BFG has priced itself far out of my budget. I was profoundly disappointed by the last Park Ranger game, that recycled scenes from past games and even dropped in one from Cruise Director (and just swapped the two Ranger characters for Dion and Alexis).

Okay, I wishlisted it on Steam. Which site I buy from depends on price. I noticed one of the scenes takes place in Pinecreek Hills, so I wonder if adult Mike and Emma will finally get to go there. They're the only characters from Cruise Director (other than the captain and cruise directors) who haven't been to Pinecreek.
