I do have to say that the eclipse was a bit of a disappointment. We are north of the direct path so the sun dimmed and the light became defused but nothing drastic. A few years ago, my husband and I stood outside and watched a lunar eclipse that was spectacular. We could watch the whole thing with our naked eyes. Probably the best natural phenomena I've ever witnessed was Halley's Comet back in the late 1980s. I was in Georgia visiting my sister and one of my brothers came down. He had night vision goggles and let me use them. They lit up the comet like a beacon. It was amazing.
