sonia (username @eskarina)It was perfectly fine to say that in this thread, that's what it's here for (she posted and then decided it should go in the SB in case you're wondering)

eskarina. How amazing is that. You guys must have so much fun together.
If I come across a mini-game that my son would like to do, then I leave it for him. Even though he's 22 its just a little thing we do together. He has a different mind-set to me, so he's tackled some difficult mini-games that I couldn't get my head around straight away.

charlene , it does keep us close - even though we live in different cities, we're in contact, if not daily, then on a weekly basis it's fun, like that thing you do together with your son

That sounds so wonderful! I lost my mother unexpectedly in 2013, before that we both had a Big fish game account and we would play the same games and share them:) She was 74 yrs old and took to electronics like a teenager lol, I am so happy you have that connection with your mom! Plus it must be really fun to trial games, I have only got to do that a couple of times on Big fish game site. Thank you for sharing that, take care:) Delora

I have been trialing some match 3 games the last couple of days trying to find something like Cave Quest 2 since I recently tried it, the last time I played match 3 was when I got my first PC and it was Bejeweled . It had just came out! But as said in another post, I really dislike the new HO games that are coming out so am branching out. Today I am playing Eventide 2 as I played the first one last week, I am quite enjoying it and it has been enough time since I played it last that it is like a new game! For those that don't know the series, it is a Ho game with a story line and I really like them. Hope every one has a great day:) Delora

jimanddelora , sorry for your loss! - my mother is now over 80 and still enjoys playing games - takes videos of her games and edits them like a pro - she especially enjoys those match3 games where you get to build gardens while you play puzzles are my favorite genre, so I have quite a few HOPA's as pure puzzle games are really hard to find - I also like word games and challenging match3 games, like the Jewel Quest series, and Da Vinci's Secret (on GameHouse) which is sort of a mix of a puzzle and match3 - Like Claws and Feathers on BigFish

Everyone, so lovely for you both to have had and have that special bond with your dear mothers; my dear Ma taught me to knit and crotchet many years ago and when my children were little I use to knot quite a lot of their woolies and use to knit mittens and beanies for my grandchildren but they're all grown now so it's just the odd scarf or beanie for myself. Sadly I lost my precious mother many years ago now. Officially the first day of Autumn on March 1, in my part of the world and it certainly let itself known with more rain in one day than the average fall for the whole month of March, a good beginning as it's been raining off and on since and so much cooler. Enjoyed a nice walk this morning and caught up with the usual walkers who are out and about early and caught up with the neighbourhood gossip, not that there's anything scandalous in this quite part of town. Wishing you all a good day, stay safe.

I've been playing all the Labrynth of the World games. Bought the CE's when there was a sale. I'm typically not a lover of fantasy games, but these are good!!

I just wish the newer games were as good, they have gotten so cookie-cutter lately :(

I've been playing some old BF games lately. The last couple of days it's been Otherworld: Omens of Summer. Just finished the main game and was watching the credits and at the end it said, "In memory of Textrekkie". Does anyone else remember her from the old BF Forums? She did a lot of testing for various game devs and was a devoted BF gamer and an integral part of the BF memberhood. She died in about 2012. Her daughter joined the forums before they shut down. Can't remember her name. Something like Helena. What a wonderful nod to Textrekkie and her family from Boomzap.
Anyway, the whole point of this is that it took me on a trip down memory lane. How time flies!

Jo, when I play or even think about older games, I feel the same way, it's not JUST about the game, the mechanics, or the story...it's a melancholy feeling you get from driving down memory lane when almost every game was fantastically unique. It's because you could tell the devs poured a little bit of their heart and soul into the game. It's because most of the devs were Indies that were proud to put their name on a game & claim credit. It's because they weren't commercialized back then... or is it Dominicized Rolling Along
