soon our sailing season starts - my husband tripped over and broke his right wrist and arm in four places - so I'm very worried how I'll manage to handle the boat on my own... here are some pictures from our previous sailing trips link to photos of our sailing trips

Wow! sonia (username @eskarina), Those are some beautiful pictures! Poor hubby, wish him well! You could ask a friend to help you, just to be safe, sailing is a hard sport, if you have concerns, don't do it alone. Cheers Mate

sonia (username @eskarina) I hope your hubby feels better soon, sorry about the sailing season, maybe you could swap with a friend who has a pontoon boat for a couple of months?

I used to play billiard (pool), too as a hobby. One day I was at a bar with my friend, and we have decided to play a few games of pool. A guy came to me and asked if I would like to join to a team, have weekly competitions and possibly tournaments. I thought, I wasn't that good, but I was intrigued, and I've joined to a team in APA American Pool players Association) league. And just like that, I was playing 2-3 times a week on competitions. This was in 2006. Then I was invited to play 9 ball Scotch doubles qualifier by an other girl, who was playing in a different team in 2009. We have teamed up for the qualifier, we won the City competition, then the regional, and we have found ourselves flying to Las Vegas for the National Championship. Out of 192 teams, we were evaluated 192th... . The competition took place in the Riviera Hotel, where the giant ballroom was set up with hundreds of pool tables. The matches started at 7 in the morning, and we were still playing games at 11 in the evening for 3 days strait. We had time pretty much to eat and sleep between games. The matches were called by a loud speaker, and since we were the weakest team competing, they called our games the first. Our team name was "Yeah, Buddy", but after the first day everybody called us the "Two Minutes Team". We got that nick name because, our game was called the first, and by the time they've called the last team to play, we were already screaming, because we won! We have lost only 1 game, the final... and we finished on 2nd place, won $5,000, and a trophy. The semifinal and final was played in the penthouse of the hotel, where were only 2 tables set, and a bunch of chairs around for spectators.. and just like on tv, they were watching when I, little Moni, was playing pool, they were , there were video cameras and the whole 9 yards. The whole scene was just simply surreal. We won the semifinal with a huge point difference in a mare 20 min. (one match usually last for about 1h). I don't have to say, that we thought we were unbeatable! Then in the final we played with a two guys team, the "Kool Katz", they were from Boston. And those guys showed us who's boss... ... They simply "smashed our face across the table". We didn't mind to loose to them, though, we didn't think we could come that far on the first place. From our region we were the first team took further than 32th place in the history of APA Championships. Our regional director was literally in tears. I went back to Las Vegas to play Championships with an 8-ball team (8 ppl. in a team, and a different kind of game) in the following 2 years after that... both times the the team finished on the 64th place (out of over 200 teams). Then a few years after that I've stopped playing - we moved further up north. I still play, there is a pool room in the community where we live now, but my hubbie is not match for me, and I haven't others to play with, blah. Here is a couple of pictures about how was to play in Las Vegas. Thanks for reading my blabber. This is how the ballroom looks like on the first day of the competition:
This is how it looks like in the Penthouse (unfortunately, I don't have a photo of us there... such a shame... but you get the idea)
And this is Alicia and I holding our Runner Up Trophy (I'm the blonde)

since my husband broke his arm, I've had to do all the fixing of the boat and learned to use power tools - so far the sander, saw, and cutter - not as scary as I thought it would be
