In forewords, I live in Florida, although I was born in Hungary. Among my very first jobs after arriving to the Sunshine State was bartending in a bar on the beach. One of the best jobs... like ever! Loads of fun, instant money, way to make new friends and practice the language. When I started, I pretty much know how to mix rum and coke... . I was baffled when one of my first customer asked for a "Screwdriver". I took it literally, and run to the office to fetch the tool. When everybody had calmed down from laughing, I learned it is the name of Vodka-OJ. (I had the same with Cuba Libre, when I thought, the customer is asking for a Cuban newspaper! When I very politely informed the customer with broken English, that our bar doesn't carry international newspapers, the guy said that I'm the funniest and most entertaining bartender he has ever met, and left me a huge tip. I'm not sure what he has meant, I was totally serious!) Anyways, after a time I've learned to mix 200+ cocktails on a fly, and even invented some.
I'm starting this thread to share some of my favorites here, and I'd like if you could tell about your favorite drinks, as well.
And now the bar is open!
ON THE DRINK MENU: Click and see
My first cocktail to mix for you is
ABSOLUT STRESS
It is called absolut stress, because it is absolutely stressful to make it. (I'm kidding, the name is because it is made with Absolut vodka)
Ingredients: - Absolut Vodka 1oz -Peach Schnapps 1/2 oz -Malibu Coconut liqueur 1/2 oz -equal amounts of Pineapple and Orange Juice Dash or two Cranberry Juice for color Garnish it with a slice of Orange/Pineapple ring, maraschino cherry, stick a cocktail umbrella in it for fun. Or, just drink it as it is!
Fill up a tall glass with ice, pour the liqueurs on the ice, shake, fill up the glass with the juices, shake again, and ENJOY!

Edit: Slow Comfortable Screw Against a Wall Ingredients:
1 oz Sloe Gin 1 oz Vodka 1/2 oz of Southern Comfort 1/2 oz of Galliano OJ Orange Slice For Garnish
Build your cocktail in a tall highball glass, but be sure to float your 1/2oz of Galliano on top. You need to get that aroma from the Galliano. Then you can mix the spicy vanilla liqueur in to the beverage with a straw. Very sweet, but extremely satisfying cocktail, I recommend to consume it as a substitute for desert, after meal.

Pennmom's bday drink: CHOCOLATE MARTINI
Ingredients: 1 oz Vodka 1 oz Vanilla flavored vodka (or 2oz of one or the other)
1/2 oz Dark Cream de Cocoa 1/2 Bailey's liqueur
grated milk chocolate for garnish Ice, shaker, freezer chilled martini glass
Put the milk chocolate in the freezer for few min, so it is hard enough to grate. In the mean time, add ice to the shaker, pour the liqueurs on the ice, and gently shake it (don't shake too hard, you don't want the drink foamy). Get the chilled martini glass, pour a bit of the Bailey's on a plate, have your grated chocolate ready, turn your glass upside down, and submerge the outer rim in the Bailey's then in the grated chocolate.
Pour the shaken mix into the glass, sprinkle some grated chocolate on the top by taste. Enjoy!

An other way to drink:
Tequila Shot
I know, I know... it is not a cocktail. But it is soooo yumm! Normally, people drink tequila shot with salt and lime. I would like to introduce a different way to enjoy this absolutely fragrant alcoholic beverage. So, instead of salt and lime, we will use cinnamon powder and orange wedge
Get your shaker, fill it up with ice, pour a shot of patron silver (or any other kind of tequila) on the ice. After a short vigorous shake, strain the spirit into a shot glass. Place a a pinch or two cinnamon powder on your hand, the outer side, between your thumb and index finger. Lick the cinnamon off of your hand, shoot the shot, and eat a wedge of orange right after. How was it?

Everybody's favorite:
MOJITO
Ingredients: 2 oz light rum sweet and sour mix OR lemon and lime juice (2 limes 1 lemon) 2 teaspoons of white sugar (or less or more by taste)
fresh mint leaves (at least 10 leaves, you will want more in it!)
mortar and pestle (or a bowl and the end of a wooden spoon)
Ice, Shaker
Crush a few (appr. 10) leaves of mint in your mortar with some lime juice. If you don't have a prepacked sour mix, then squeeze 2 limes and 1 lemon in a container, add about 2 teaspoons of white sugar (or less or more, depending on how sweet you'd like your drink) mix it well together with a fork, add 1/4 cup of cold water, mix it again, until the sugar completely dissolves. Fill up the glass with ice, then dump the ice into the shaker. Put the crushed mint leaves in the shaker, poor the white rum over, give it a fast shake, then pour you sour mix in, as well, and give it a good shake. Pour the mixture with the ice into a glass. Wedge it with lime, and fresh mint leaves. It is a very refreshing, summer drink, light and minty, with a monster bite. Enjoy!

Summer is coming, time for a good slushy drink. Are you ready for a good
PAIN IN THE ASS can I say "ass" here? OMG
Pain in the ass is a layered frozen drink, mixed from Pina Colada and Rum Runner. The name comes from that it is a real pain in the ass to make this drink, and the patron who orders it in a busy hour, also a pain in the ass.
Ingredient: For Rum Runner: 2 oz spiced rum, like Captain Morgan
1 oz Apricot Brandy 1 oz Banana Liqueur 1 oz Blackberry Brandy Dash of Rose Lime juice Dash or two of Grenadine Ice, Blender
For Pina Colada 2 oz Coconut Rum, like Malibu Pineapple Juice (optional: Coconut water)
Ice, Blender
In two separate blender add the ingredients with a half of cup of ice, blend until ice fully flaked, in a glass start to poor the rum runner, stop at quarter glass, start to poor the pina colada on top of it, stop at half glass, poor the rum runner, again, and pina colada, normally finish with rum runner on the top. You can add an additional rum floater, ie. poor a shot of Captain Morgan on top of it, or into the drinking straw. The drink is extremely yummy, but very strong! Careful with it. ENJOY

My personal favorite martini type of drink:
Cosmopolitan
Ingredients
2-3 oz Vodka (I like this cocktail with Belvedere) 1/2 - 1 oz Orange Liqueur (Triple Sec or Grand Marnier)
Dash of Rose Lime Juice (optional, but yummy if it is added) 1 oz Cranberry Juice (mainly for color ) Shaker, Ice, Martini glass
Chill your glass in the freezer, combine ingredients in the shaker, give a gentle shake to it, using a strainer poor the mix in your glass. Garnish it with lime wedge, or lemon twist.
This cocktail is sweet and tangy in the same time, favorite to many of my friends. ENJOY!

PEAR GINGER FIZZ
THE PERFECT SPRING FRUITY COCKTAIL (FOR PENNMOM)
Ingredients:
3-4 oz Absolut Citron 2 oz Tangerey Gin (or other gin) 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger 8 oz sparkling pear juice (or 4 oz pear juice and 4 oz sparkling water mix) 1 tablespoon light Agave Nectar Pear slices to garnish Ice, highball glass, shaker
Fill up a highball glass (tall glass) with ice 3/4 way. Add the vodka, gin. In the shaker combine the Agave nectar and the fresh ginger, add half of the juice, and give it a stir (don't shake, the bubbles will float over!). Poor the alcohol and ice mix in the shaker from the glass, give it an other stir, poor the remaining juice in the glass add couple of pear wedges (they get marinated with the alcoholic aroma by the time you finish your drink) and poor the content of the shaker on top of it. You can place pear wedges on the rim, as well for decor, or some lemon slices. This drink is very delicious, you can barely detect the wast amount of alcohol in it, so be careful when you drink it! ENJOY!

I have a recipe for a delicious mocktail, called Goji berry & Rasp berry cooler (I don't want the smiley for raspberry coming up, so I put it into two words) Ingredients40g goji berries 150g frozen raspberries 1 thumb-sized piece ginger , peeled and finely grated 2 tsp honey, or to taste crushed ice, to serve small handful each of fresh raspberries and mint, to serve MethodStep 1Tip the goji berries, raspberries and ginger into a large jug. Pour over 850ml boiling water and leave to cool. Transfer to the fridge to infuse for at least 2 hrs, or overnight. Step 2Strain through a sieve into a clean jug, then sweeten with the honey. Fill four glasses with the ice, pour over the drink and garnish with the fresh berries and mint, if you like.
