I am just letting fellow woodseys know that pennmom has had a tragic house fire. Her beloved pets were inside and everything she owns has also been totally lost. She is of course in grief at present and may or may not be able to pop in or do her usual activities here in the woods. If you would like to leave a message of support and love ...please post on the thread ' SENDING OUR LOVE TO PENNMOM' This one is for us to chat on and I will post any news or updates on this thread Then she will just a have a thread with just support and love messages...and not have to wade through our conversations. Thanks  *** Pennmom... created and gave us this wonderful forum so we could have such a great place to come to. Even if you don't know her...let her know you care. She gave us a wonderful gift in this forum.. let's send our support back to her on the message thread.   |

I'm curious do they know how the fire started. We had a fire at our old house and it had to be a day I was up 2 days. The cubby hole down the basement caught fire. It was nothing the fire company put it out. That happened in Dec of 14. My dad was still alive. The heating thing for our pipe caused it and the firefighters told us it was never supposed to be put in like that. Of course the dude that put it in blamed us for not getting it inspected.

metmichallica , It happened while they were out to see the doctor...as on top of it all she was also unwell...and by the time they returned home...all was lost. That's all I know for now...I have started another thread for just 'sending love' for when she pops her head in so there's not too much chat on it. I have called it SENDING OUR LOVE TO PENNMOM and then we can chat away on this one... I want to have a thread where she can just come and see the support on with gifs and messages. She only popped in briefly to let me know and I have no details just yet. Everyone is welcome to chat away on this thread, but please leave only cards, gifs and support -on the other thread. SENDING OUR LOVE TO PENNMOM. She is understandably devastated...and if she can pop in it would be lovely to have a thread for her just containing that and not all our conversations to wade through. If I hear any more news.. .I will update on this thread but she will tell us in her own time. Cheers Woodseys. Sorry if I sound too directive...but I am pretty rattled myself. Please bear with us. Thanks joybelle. I can't imagine what pennmom is going through, or how she is feeling right now, but I do hope, that, with the love and support of her friends and family, that she can get her life back together as quickly and as easily as possible. |

Ditto sonia (username @eskarina), :'( I have not heard from her today..but that is totally expected. The fire marshals as of yesterday were still investigating as they could not find the initial source. She sent me some pics and they are devestating. All rooms totally burnt out and all furniture and staircase gone etc. A total disaster zone. Poor pennmom has a long road ahead. I too am heartbroken for her. Beating Heart |

Ok..above is one room..I had to test whether they posted. Poor pennmom is still sorting out where she will live...and she is in such grief over the loss of her little dog Loki. So we will leave her be until she is able to return. I just can't imagine the heartache Its devestating. The house must be demolished. She knows we all send our love.    |

Good Lord! This is pure horror!... There must be precious things of a lifetime was claimed by this horrid fire. I don't find the right words. Thanks god, she is physically safe. joybelle, do you think we can help with more than just words of love? |

I think we will need to let her heal for just now moni , she is in deep distress at present. She knows we are all here for her..but she is very private and I think we need to just let her be and navigate her path. If I find she is in any financial difficulty (which I dont think so)..then yes we will be able to rally behind her here. For now..she is full to the gills..even for anything that we could do that was heartfelt and meant to help. It would mean she would feel she had to acknowledge, thank etc. And we may get it all wrong. She will tell me if she needs anything...right now..she is just in deep grief. Until she lets know...we may put more on her while she is not even able to think too clearly. So yes..I think in the future...when the situation becomes clearer we will be able to do something for her..but just sit tight for now and keep posting those messages of love ...so when she does come back..the thread is miles long............ I have actually asked her if there is something we can get her (fundraising)...and will await her reply. I did think maybe we could get her a computer organised...even if its on hire for now...but then as I said.. .her head is not anywhere near being involved with all our stuff. Stay tuned. |
