pennmom, I am wondering if the fault is something to do with me ? I get 2 options vote or End poll. I click on vote and automatically up comes this poll has ended. I do NOT click on End Poll. Not sure why end poll comes up anyway and wonder if this is the glitch ?

No options at all for me (Firefox) I tried clicking on the type but nothing happened. At one point when I tried again later one of the types wasn't there.

Hi, I'm the one that created the poll plugin for you..
How it should work... You select your choices by ticking the relevant boxes and then click the 'Vote' button. Only the poll creator and and admin should be able to see the 'End Poll' button.
I have done extensive testing using several browsers and I cannot recreate the issues I am hearing about here, so if you are having problems can you please PM me, or maybe someone can create a thread where people can put what problems they are having, and if they can include the browser(s) they have tried, that would help too, and I'll try to get to the bottom of the problems.
Thank you, and sorry for the problems you are experiencing.

Atmosphere is at least 33% of why I will like one game over another. The background music, the little sounds, the graphics that all add up to make you feel something.

poohcorner, I totally agree. I like soothing music during the game but also like some good crashing sounds when crates break or bombs go off. It's a little thing but you are right that it's all about the atmosphere.

100% agree with what is being said here, atmosphere is very important in a game yet sometimes the music or the sounds are just so bad I have to either put up with it which ruins a game for me or turn the sound or effects off which also spoils a game for me. So Yes atmosphere is such an important thing in any game.

I believe I've played 4 Elements in the distant past so let me review that. I also think I may have tried Fishdom*. So I guess I will have to try them out again. For years I only played HOs but the only Match 3 I was seeing was Bejeweled which didn't float my boat. Big Kahuna Reef...that was a good one but I somehow missed whatever came after or it wasn't as good. I'll try these and let you know...better late than never. I think Last Resort Island turned the tide that brought me to liking Match 3 now. *oop my Fishdom is the HO one.

I know, old thread...
My favourite is definitely the Jewel Match (Suricate Software) series. I also like to play the Match Ventures series or Runefall (1); I have a big problem with Runefall 2 because I can't get past the first level due to a game bug, the game just isn't compatible with my (Czech) version of Windows 10 for some strange reason, I would have to have English or Russian Windows, then there is no problem. But I don't want to make such comedies..., too bad, I was really looking forward to the game :-/
From the older M3 games on BFG I like Arabesque or the Magic Match series.

aethiriatgames , I would love to see a new Cradle of Rome but I don't thing Awem wants to go back to PC games I did read an interesting article about the history of Awem Awem was founded in 2002.
For the first three years, the company worked on a shareware model and was made up of students who wanted to learn how to make games. We released a few simple arcades: Pacboy, Battleman, Star Defender, Bombardix, Xoid and Blade Master.
At the end of 2004, Star Defender 2 was released, and its quality caught the attention of publishers. The royalties from the game allowed us to form a legal entity in 2005, move from a rented apartment into an office, and start making games on a higher level.
We released a few more midcore-games: Alien Stars, Star Defender 3, Star Defender 4, and continued developing relationships with publishers. We started moving into the more promising casual-game market.
In 2007, we released Cradle of Rome, the world’s first match-3 game with meta-gameplay. Users did not simply play match-3, like in other games available at the time. They gained resources from level to level and could use them to build their own city, which then provided new levels and new game mechanics.
This innovation initiated an immense success for Cradle of Rome. The game stayed at the top of casual-game publishers charts for an entire year. Over its entire lifetime, Cradle of Rome was downloaded more than 10 million times! It was a great achievement for a team of just 10 people.
Cradle of Rome’s success gave a start to the company’s rapid growth. Over the next 4 years, we grew to 70 people.
Awem continued working on match-3 games and also tried the hidden-objects genre. We released Cradle Of Persia, Romance Of Rome, Golden Trails, Golden Trails 2, Golden Trails 3, Letters from Nowhere, Letters from Nowhere 2, and Cradle Of Rome 2. All of these projects were high-profitable.
In 2011, the casual-game market started to stagnate on PC and Mac, due to the influence of new Social and Mobile platforms.
We spent the next 3 years switching our production to Mobile platforms and setting up a marketing department. We started by porting our PC games, but it didn’t bring the expected profit. Our first attempts to create something new and specifically designed for mobile platforms failed. We had to cut the number of active projects from 7 to 2, optimize everything we could, and take a loan to keep the company going for another six months.
Early 2014, we were working on two projects: Letters from Nowhere Playground in collaboration with publisher’s producers (this project eventually failed) and Cradle of Empires.
In Summer 2014, we released Cradle of Empires on iOS. The product immediately showed good metrics, reaching the Top-10 Grossing charts in many countries, and caused Awem’s growth. As a next step, we expanded to Android and Mac right away.
In 2022, we reached the 120-employee milestone, constantly continuing to look for the brightest talents to become a part of our team in the offices or remotely.
Today, we continue an active development of Cradle of Empires, which remained stable over its lifetime, and are preparing a new product for launch.
