pennmom, thanks for creating this thread! Sorry if I put this in the wrong place, but I do have a question for you regarding the single sign on at ProBoards. How would you make sure you're logged off of everywhere if you do that, when you want to log off? I logon and log off at every single forum individually to make sure I don't stay signed on all the time somewhere.

SynthpopAddict , I only belong to three..so it was easy for me. I logged off at my other one..and here. If you go to proaboards.com and log in or even register.. It becomes an account of its own..and the 'overseer'...They then have a dashboard then of all the forums you belong to and then they are listed there. That would remind you of who you are registered with. I now stay logged into all three. 1. Proboards..(must stay logged in here to move between your forums without having to log in and out) It then lists my forums 1.proboards support 2.my other interest forum and 3.this one..then you can log out of a forum if you wish..but I dont bother..I just close down at the X button, and go from one to the other and it just comes up. I think you have to tick 'remember me' when you log in for it to do that too but not sure. pennmom is of course the 'techo' you should talk to..I am just throwing in what I do..and may have no relevance to what you really want to know? But I try pennmom , will get back to you soon..she needed a little gaming time. It's mainly that you cant log in here if you are logged into other forums still. Going to proboards.com and logging in overrides that between your forums. If you log out of your other forums without going to proboards.com..you can log in here ok. But will have to do the individual login each time that you are doing now each time or you will get an error message.

SynthpopAddict joybelle is correct, Here is a Screenshot of what the Proboards Navi-bar will look like (showing PF & The Woods) You don't need to log off & on at either forum, you would simply use the Proboards navi-bar You don't have to use the Proboards.com method, it's just a convenience tool

I dont even use the navi bar pennmom , I just saved the forums to my favourites when I was in them..and just bring them up..and whizz around the places.. I have proboards.com in my favourites too..but its an extra click!.. Rolling Smilie But it does hold all your info in ONE place on there which is useful..even your notifications from all forums etc.

joybelle, SynthpopAddict, There is actually a "Switch Accounts" tab on the navi-bar at the bottom of the forum page where you change backgrounds and settings (opposite of Anger Bar & Pixel Editor) but the difference is that with Proboards.com you can check your messages, profile notifications, bookmark activity etc. and see what activity is available & go directly to that tab. For example: if I click on messages on PF, I can see who sent me a message and go directly to that PM at that particular forum.

Thanks pennmom and joybelle, I get the single sign on concept but am hesitant to use it because I'm afraid of being permanently signed on somewhere without knowing and I like to manually logon and logoff on any site I'm using as a computer server doesn't really know it's "me", it only recognizes if my account is logged on or off. Someone I used to work with got their LinkedIn account hacked some years ago and spammers/scammers unfortunately hang out on social media looking to take advantage of the unwary. One thing I'd like to point out to people is you can change the forum theme using the toolbar down at the bottom right corner. For me, it's the multicolored circle thingy on the far right which if moused over, brings up "Select Theme" in a popup. The orange T on the bottom left side does the same thing. No offense to pennmom as she's done a great job setting up this place and running it, but I found the default theme was a little too dark for my eyes, so switched my display theme to "Too Cool" as that's easier for me to see. The emoticons don't all display correctly, but I'm getting the gist. :D Another suggestion I've got is making the Cloudinary message near the top of the page stationary instead of the wiggling motion. I can't dismiss the popup forever because of how my browser is configured and don't wish to redo my browser settings just for one website. Having a constant jiggling motion at the top of the screen is a tad obnoxious IMO. ;)

How do I become a member to be able to post? All you have to do is click to login and it will have an option to create a new membership. You just need an email address and you'll set a personal password to use whenever you log in afterwards. Hope to see you soon :)

pennmom , joybelle , I cannot log in. When I click "login", it takes me to an empty page says: error 502 Bad Gateway. Is it just me? Or the bear got out of the Woods and trolling around? Hm... -

How does one become a member? Is there a new member video or something, to help answer any questions that we may have?
Thanks

kdblueey, There is no informational video, but there is a board designated for to learn how to navigate and use this forum. that board is called Forum Tips and it is located the second from the top on the home page. Here is the link for the general forum tips thread on that board to post questions or ask help Forum Tips
You could also drop a few words about yourself at the Welcome board, here is the link to that... Welcome New Members
Otherwise, just click on everything, and when you want to ask something click the "reply" button anywhere to post your question. We will see it and some of us or more of us will go and answer. Cheers Mate
Most of all, WELCOME TO THE WOODS! Enjoy your time with us!

kdblueey, Welcome! moni, has covered just about everything, I tried to cover just about every basis on the Forum Tips section so that members would be able to navigate and work the forum with ease. Everyone here was new at one point and we basically had to learn on the fly. I wanted everyone to feel comfortable here and the best way to do this is by knowing how everything works. We also have a Testing Thread so you can try new features as often as you'd like. We are one big happy family, you are a Woodsey now too and anyone will be more than happy to help you with anything, all you have to do is ask.

I don't know what is happening but when I try to switch forums (from pondfriends) to this one, it loads and says to login. Logging in says invalid token, fraud error or something. I have tried several browsers with the same results. What am I doing wrong? pennmom, typing in my user name in this guest board it says that name is already taken (duh, it's me..lol).

myviolinsingsYou have to log out of PF before you can log into The Woods. You can also go to proboards.com to switch between accounts without having to log on/off but if you are not using the proboards.com method you'll have to log out of one to go to another :)

pennmom,I did close the other open tab for PF. I usually keep one open all the time cause I use the board for all the BF game series to have new ones to add to my wishlist. Then I just use the lower r.h. switch forum button. This is the first time it did not work.
