This is a group game - we basically pick a game, then we all play the same game in our own pace. Then, if we get stuck in the game, or we want to rant or air frustration, we come here for support from each other Bouncy Puppy
It is fun, check out the games we plan to play - you may have some of them already bought, or Jo, has an excellent, detailed info about from where and for how much you can acquire the games couple posts above, and just jump in. The more of us playing the more fun it will be.
Welcome to the Woods btw!

Thank you! I would like to participate. Will give me a chance to know some people here better, too. I will check my list of games, I think, I already have a few of the games. Never played in a group before.

My 5 cents (we don't use pennies in Canada anymore): I've never even heard of most of the games people have listed.
Honestly, right now my gaming obsession is another crack at Lost Island: Eternal Storm (the Hidden Object version, not the <censored> mah-jongg version we got when everyone begged for the sequel we'd been told was coming). I never did finish absolutely everything in that, even when told I'd completed the last quest.
This time I absolutely do intend to complete everything so I get perfect scores in all the achievements. That means dozens of visits to each location to find everything to complete the collections, and get the maximum for visits, monster-killings, etc.
I'm trying to do this before the stroke of midnight, because Camp NaNoWriMo starts April 1, and that means another 30 days of counting the words I write (STILL working on King's Heir, even over 3 years later, though a couple of silly Star Trek fanfic ideas occurred to me the other day...).
In short, April is one of my dedicated writing months, though it's also a Camp month so I can choose my word count goal. I plan to do an easy romp of maybe 10,000 words (I'm getting really bogged down in getting this one particular character married off, so maybe this will give me a needed push to get it done and go on to another part of the story).

The Neverhood The Neverhood is a 1996 point-and-click adventure video game developed by The Neverhood, Inc. and published by DreamWorks Interactive for Microsoft Windows. The game follows the adventure of a claymation character named Klaymen as he discovers his origins and his purpose in a world made entirely out of clay. When the game was originally released, it was unique in that all of its animation was done entirely in claymation, including all of the sets, rather than 2- or 3-dimensional computer graphics, like many other games at its time. The gameplay consists mostly of the player guiding the main character Klaymen around and solving puzzles to advance in the game. As the player advances through different areas of the game, there are various video sequences that help advance the plot. In addition to being unique, The Neverhood aimed at being quirky and humorous, as is evident by the characters, the music, and the plot sequence of the game. In 2011, Adventure Gamers named The Neverhood the 35th-best adventure game ever released. Wiki
Due to a lack of interest, legal wranglings, disruption of business or whatever reason, The Neverhood has become abandonware. "Abondonware is a product, typically software, ignored by its owner and manufacturer, and for which no official support is available. Within an intellectual rights contextual background, abandonware is a software (or hardware) sub-case of the general concept of orphan works. Museums and various organizations dedicated to preserving this software continue to provide legal access. The term "abandonware" is broad, and encompasses many types of old software. Definitions of "abandoned" vary, but in general it is like any item that is abandoned – it is ignored by the owner, and as such product support and possibly copyright enforcement are also "abandoned". Wiki
After all that blather just so you'll all know what I'm talking about, I have found where you can download The Neverhood: The Neverhood Restoration This is on SourceForge which is a reputable site. But nothing has been updated since 2013 and I can't find clear directions on how to run it on modern machines. As a side note, GOG, who is in the business of restoring old games, has a community wishlist for The Neverhood. 10,124 people have voted for it to be restored and updated but for whatever reasons, GOG hasn't taken this game on. Probably they can't get permission from the publisher/devs or there is some kind of copyright dispute.
So the bottom line is: Unless you can find someone more knowledgeable than me who can make recommendations and guide our group play members through the necessary process, The Neverhood need to be taken off the list and replaced by a more readily available game. Sorry but this is all way above my skill level.

moni , bumblebee , Valkara , Jo , joybelle , jade , mooky , cyril50 , smitty189 and anyone else interested: Here's my suggestion
We space out the Adventure games with a Time Management game on alternating weeks, that way our numerous TM fans are included AND it is feasible for a person to be able to participate in both genres if they want that way. It may even be better to have a 3 week schedule and schedule the TM game at the week & a half mark, if it's a difficult TM game
Lets keep everything simple and REMOVE Neverhood since it won't be readily available at a known gaming site. How about replacing Neverhood with:
Creaks store.steampowered.com/app/956030/Creaks/ or Machinarium (4.99 Steam) store.steampowered.com/app/40700/Machinarium/
OR Samorost which is a FREE game on Steam (then we could add # 2-3 to the list down the road) store.steampowered.com/app/1580970/Samorost_1/
Jo to answer your Host question, I think it would be nice if 1 person was in charge of the Strategy Guide or Help Videos, a "designated cheater": so to speak that is willing to look up solutions so others wouldn't have to see into the future so to speak IF someone is truly stuck???
Once we decide on our games & the schedule, PUT THE GAME ON YOUR WISHLIST so you will get notified of sales

Creaks is on sale at GOG until April 4 for $19.99 55% off = $8.99
To recommend another FREE game that has gotten very good reviews:
There are a ton of FREE games so we could add one a month.

I always look at your group play suggestions for new games to play. But I am too busy irl to participate so I play the most of them whenever I have some time to spent.

Currently I'm only at Big Fish, the other gaming sites are alien to me. I'm happy to look into them, I like to discover new things, but I don't like to do anything in haste. I already looked at the Steam site, lots of shooting going on there. I love all the game suggestions, they all look fun. I'll try my best to participate in most. In the mean time I'm learning how to use this forum, I'm overwhelmed. The forum tips are helping a lot, thanks for cyril for the suggestion.

moni, bumblebee, Valkara, Jo, joybelle, mooky, smitty189, The games are on Steam as well, Jo was just finding the Cheapest sites, so put the games on your Wishlist and you will get notified when they go on sale. If someone really wants to play a game but can't afford it, I can chip in for a couple of people. Jo, do they have gift certificates at Steam? I could buy multiple games when they go on sale but as far as I know the only way to gift them to someone is to have them listed as friends and send individually? Jo you should explain about GOG, they seem like good ole Guys selling good ole games since you told me all about them :) ALSO: Fanatical is a great place to pick up Steam Keys DIRT cheap! I have gotten several packages from Fanatical and have never had an issue, they give you the Steam Keys and all you have to do is add them via the + on the bottom of your Steam GM. I've literally gotten 20 Adventure games for 3.99 in the past. They ARE Steam Games they are just a `package sale outlet who creates bundles of steam games, you don't play them through Fanatical, they are added directly to your steam account (you just have to add the key coupon code like you would use a coupon code at BF) and btw they have HO packages too! www.fanatical.com/en/

It's activated on each game page and they will send you an email when it goes on sale, too. Jo , do they have gift certificates at Steam? I could buy multiple games when they go on sale but as far as I know the only way to gift them to someone is to have them listed as friends and send individually? Yes, they do. You can find it HERE and HERE FAQ HERE When you buy a Steam gift card for another member, it will be credited to that person's wallet. But
Also, that friend must have been on your friend's list for at least three days prior to making the purchase. This is a security precaution in case your account is breached. Gift FAQ You can give multiple games at once but only to the same person. Jo you should explain about GOG, they seem like good ole Guys selling good ole games since you told me all about them See below ↓ALSO: Fanatical is a great place to pick up Steam Keys DIRT cheap! And in recent months, Fanatical has become the star with numerous bundle offers every month! Indiegala also has bundles but I haven't found anything I wanted there for a couple of years. Humble Bundle now has limited bundles available and are much more focused on promoting their subscription service although a certain percentage of each bundle sales still goes to various charities. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy a whole bundle that one game even at sale prices. You can always give any unwanted games away HERE. All of the above give out Steam keys except in the rare exception when it is, for example, a PlayStation or Occulus Quest game. But you wouldn't buy a PS game if you didn't already have a PS anyway. Or if it is software that must be activated through the publisher because Steam does not carry it. Now about GOG.
GOG is my favorite game portal for a variety of reasons. Great sales, restored and updated older games, a thriving community via the GOG forums, good customer support service, a commitment to DMR-free games and the devs that make them and more. Granted the GOG library is much smaller than Steam, but if a game is the same price at both portals, I'll buy it at GOG.
GOG (Good Old Games) is owned and run by CD Projekt, the development studio that created and published The Witcher games. Marcin Iwiński and Michał Kiciński established CD Projekt in 1994 in Warsaw, Poland. They were gamers first and the company initially acted as a distributor of foreign video games for the domestic market in Poland. GOG was started in 2008 with the specific goal of legitimate digital distribution of video games. You can read the fascinating backstory HERE. HERE is a review published in PCMagazine in 2020.
I did have one unusual problem with GOG about 10 years ago. My primary credit card at the time was from Chase - no interest for a year. They went completely overboard with their security precautions. If I was at my mother's Kroger store, about 35 miles from my house, and bought her groceries, my card was declined. We once had the card declined at a restaurant in another town about 10 miles away. My purchases at GOG were also declined because it's based in Poland. Apparently we were only allowed to use the damn card within a five mile radius of our house. If I bought anything at GOG, I had to call Chase first and tell them that GOG was having a sale and I was going to buy something. I also had to call them to tell them that I was going to my mother's Kroger store in Imlay City, Michigan and make a purchase. It is very embarrassing to have your card declined in front of your mother. When the "no interest" offer ran out, we changed cards. Oddly enough, I can use my Chase debit card anywhere with no problems at all.
I've had one reason to use GOG customer service and that problem was entirely of my own making. It was resolved to my complete satisfaction within a few hours.

moni ,bumblebee ,Valkara ,Jo ,joybelle ,mooky ,smitty189 , good2bqueen , suzanne , lurkercat , galaxy and all others
Here is my proposed schedule. I switched a few games around and will start with a game readily available at BFG which will give members time to wait for sales from Steam, and I tried to alternate between games that are just available at Steam with a game available at BFG (sometimes available at both)
Adventure Games will go as long as it takes everyone, but a new game will begin 2 weeks later
I'd like to throw in some Time Management Games on some of those alternating weeks too
Put the Steam Games on your wishlist even if you think you won't play them so you will get notifications of sales just in case you change your mind! (ask if you need help with this)

Have fun, people - I've never heard of 99% of these, and my budget is really tight (thank goodness for punch codes and Mondays and GAMECLUB codes). Please keep in mind that some of us live in countries with really unfavorable exchange rates with the USD.
BFG is the only site I'm comfortable purchasing from (tried Steam and find that site incomprehensible, ditto GOG). iWin is too unreliable and their Customer Disservice is infuriating (though they do have the Pixel Art games up to #41 now).
Ah well... April 1, Camp NaNoWriMo month... off to add another 10,000 words to my King's Heir: Rise to the Throne epic.

Ah well... April 1, Camp NaNoWriMo month... off to add another 10,000 words to my King's Heir: Rise to the Throne epic. Good luck with your book. When we can read it? I know what you mean about Steam, I've joined not long ago, and I was scared from it at first. Now, I love Steam and I'm gradually abandoning BFG! Steam just as safe (if not safer) than BFG. You can try out the site with free to play games, first, like the Coloring Games, since you like pixel coloring (me too). That's what I did before I've decided to make my first actual purchase. For my first few games I spent under $10, since they were on a disgusting sale - I got six games for that money - I'm frugal, too, like to see what I'm spending on. So, it doesn't take actual money to try Steam. Here are some links for pixel coloring there (the pictures are for the whole canvas - you need to color the background too, and the music is very enjoyable in the games)
So, you really don't need a penny to spend, still have fun, until you're more comfortable with the platform.
