poohcorner , I really like that idea. One of the reasons I visit is to hear about new games or remind me of old ones I own to replay. (Most recently someone mentioned "Lost Island Eternal Storm". I own it but never played long enough to really get the feel of the game and am loving it.) I think having this info in one place would be great and get folks chatting about older games. And try group play sometime. It's fun. I love Lost Island: Eternal Storm and have replayed it several times. It's basically a quest game where you look for hidden objects for some character or because you're trying to complete a collection. You can choose how deep you want to go - the bare-bones quests, or if you want the extra effort of collecting chests and setting yourself up to earn extra money, weapons, potions ingredients, building materials, etc. It's a good idea to do these just to stock up. You can never have too many baskets! As you complete your quests you learn how the island's different inhabitants interact with each other; some have petty squabbles, while another wants gifts for the hand of his daughter in marriage.

How did I miss this game? It's 5BN, my favorite casual dev. I own everything else they did. I just downloaded the demo. Thanks!

They are NOT sequels.

Jo , have you played Lost Lands A Hidden Object Adventure yet? (it is a f2p game by Five-BN Games) Nope, because it's F2P. There are a couple of other F2P 5BN games at Steam. I'd rather just buy outright and not have to deal with in-game purchases.
Now for a completely different question. (Oh, my! How this thread has gotten off topic!)
Does anyone remember the two Lost in the City games? They won't play on my Win10 computer, too old, but I remember them being very good games. I'm thinking about getting them for my iPad.

Gee, Jo, out of curiosity I just downloaded the 1st Lost in the City game to my Win10 computer & it seemed to run just fine, so did not appear to be "too old". I'm running Win10 Pro, 64-bit. I really enjoyed the game when I played it all the way through ages ago, though it seemed a tad ho-hum when I ran through the 1st couple scenes just now.

I've got basically the same system so I guess I need to try it again and see. Thanks for the pro-tip!
ETA: I'll be darned! It does work just fine. Maybe I had something on it that created a conflict before. I did have to uninstall a Roxio program a while ago because it was causing problems. Thanks, lurkercat,

This looks like one of the locations in Lost Island: Eternal Storm. The Bog is one of the more frustrating ones for me due to how they show the lighting. Some objects are either very thin (slingshot) or nearly transparent.

Valkara , Jo , lurkercat , As everyone probably knows, Five-BN Games is my #1 Favorite developer. They are from Dneprodzerzhinsk, Ukraine and I can't see how any of the developers from Ukraine could possibly reopen. Even if the war ended today it would take years to rebuild the country, at which point they would have to fear that the HOPA genre may not interest players after such a long period and may not wish to reopen, not to mention the fact that it would take a great deal of money. It saddens me deeply that the end of the HOPA era may have come and gone in the blink of an eye PS: One of my favorite Five-BN oldies was the Sacra Terra series followed by House of 1000 Doors (the 1st 3 were the best) I've posted these Five-BN Games fun facts before but it's interesting so I'll repost: Five-BN Games fun facts:
*In 2008, Five-BN Games became an internal development studio of Alawar Entertainment branded as "Alawar Five-BN"
*In 2014 they parted ways with Alawar to once again become the independent developer known as Five-BN Games.
*The first Five-BN game published by Big Fish Games was Lost Lands: Dark Overlord.
*House of 1000 Doors was a series originally developed by Alawar Five-BN Games. The fourth game in the series, Evil Inside, was developed by Alawar and Logris Games, which consequentially was the only game in the series that received a low 3.0 average rating , games 1-3 each received a 4.6 average rating!
*Their games are available in 60 Countries worldwide and in over 20 languages.
*Their team of professionals are able to create masterpieces with games that are characterized by great art, elaborated cut-scenes and spectacular stories.
*They believe that only the best product deserves your attention.

*They believe that only the best product deserves your attention. I guess it should come as no surprise to anyone who knows about my NaNoWriMo projects that Lost Island: Eternal Storm is one of the games I seriously thought about novelizing (it would be a challenge to create a linear storyline since there are so many quests and actions that are strictly optional and at various stages in the game you can do them in any order you want... though eventually you do reach a bottleneck where there's one quest you absolutely have to do to get any further). Another challenge is that there are times when you have to clear out a whole lot of monsters, and if you don't have the right weapons or equipment, you either have to do a lot of extra exploring or puzzle chests in hopes of getting them... or a lot of gold to buy them. Unfortunately, there was supposed to be a sequel, and Lost Island: Eternal Storm isn't the entire story. There are some Collections that are impossible to get and I would imagine that's because the locations where some of the items are found were intended to be in the second installment. I replayed this game fairly recently, and it gave me ideas for my other stories... even though those don't have elves or steampunk or witches. Oh, and an FYI... there's a slightly annoying error. Any time you see "clever" as one of the items to find, it's a spelling mistake. You're really looking for clover. Even so, it's one of my favorite games. The artwork is gorgeous, and gives a sense of place. The cabin in the forest actually reminds me a bit of some of the somewhat earthy, somewhat run-down places I've seen in British Columbia, yet the forest is so relaxing (as long as you don't meet up with a monster; some of those are seriously creepy).
