As a non-member, a BOGO is the only thing that would entice me to buy some BF games. SEs are $9.99 for me so getting two with a BOGO would bring the cost down to $5 per game which is acceptable. So I took a look at my "Don't Buy" list from 2017-2019. One series that I have never played is Mortimer Beckett. BF has 5 Mortimer Beckett game but the last one is a CE so it's off the list of possibilities. I may play some demos to decide.

I am planning on getting the Ancient Quest of Saqquarah on BFG - a standard edition game - based on the recommendations here for Match 3 games. I am looking for a second standard edition game to go along with it for BOGO. What are some of your favorite standard edition games? Any genre works.

There are certainly some older games that are worth a look if you missed them.

I'm getting Halloween Stories: The Neglected Dead. Had hoped Tearstone: Thieves of the Heart would be available as an SE by now, but am starting to doubt that will ever be released. May go with Crossroads: On a Just Path (did not like sequel demo), or The Tower of Beatrice as my BOGO choice. Nothing recent at BFG has piqued my interest, other than Tearstone. As a non-member, this will let me use up my last remaining GCC before the switch to points comes in.

pennmom, Now there's a game, Red Crow Mysteries: Legion, I haven't played since it came out. Maybe I'll just download and replay it and not spend any money at all at the BOGO. If people keep coming up with old games I already own but don't remember, I'll never buy another game!

The Mortimer Beckett games are a blast! There are definitely scenes in which you have to think outside the box and one where I would happily have clocked the devs upside the head for making it so finicky, but overall they're fun games.
I am planning on getting the Ancient Quest of Saqquarah on BFG - a standard edition game - based on the recommendations here for Match 3 games. I am looking for a second standard edition game to go along with it for BOGO. What are some of your favorite standard edition games? Any genre works. I got two of the Artists of Fortune games, since they're similar to Pixel Art (I must be the only one here who loves those games). I'm considering a couple of CE games as well, but need to try the demos first. Games I recommend (based on replay value): Picket Fences You and 3 neighbors are trying to spruce up your houses and yards, by acquiring new furniture, new interior paint jobs and appliances, and getting new stuff for your HOA. Thing is, your 3 neighbors are a really competitive bunch and there are only so many high-end things to go around... and sometimes they get to steal stuff from you or compel you to sell your things to them in garage sales. You can do the same to them, of course, and make them miss turns or take credit for things you've done. The idea is to get sets of stuff before the others do, and the winner is decided on points. Runes of AvalonThis is a Match-3 game with spectacular artwork and gorgeous music. The idea is to match rune stones and clear the board before the timer runs out. As the game gets further along, more kinds of runes are added, as well as more kinds of obstacles (ie. don't take too long in some levels or your runes will turn to stone and it will take extra turns to free them). There are a couple of games based on classic literature I enjoy. Both are hidden object games: The Count of Monte Cristo The Great GatsbyI haven't read the books these games are based on, though I do have a copy of the Monte Cristo one. I'm planning to read The Great Gatsby when I find a copy. There are several games based on The Three Musketeers, in a variety of genres. I've played all of them and they're all fun. FindersThis is part-hidden object, part-adventure. You're in charge of an archaeological team investigating some odd stuff going on in a strange part of the world. Of course there's a villain, and you meet a variety of other characters. You also do a lot of fishing, buying and selling supplies, cooking, and mining. I wish this game had a sequel, since I had a blast playing it again, and again, and again... Lost Island: Eternal StormHidden object adventure in which you complete quests (most can be done in any order until you reach a bottleneck where you must complete a specific quest to get further). Some of us were discussing this game recently, though I don't recall which thread it was. The artwork in this game is fantastic. Lost in Reefs: Antarctic
This is a Match-3 for penguin-lovers. You have a choice of whether to play timed or by the number of moves (there are lots of bonus goodies to help). There are a few puzzle scenes that involve hidden objects and figuring out what to do with them once you find them. Some are tricky, but if BFG hasn't zapped the old forums, some of us posted solutions in this game's forum there, so that's a place to look for help. I love the music in this game (and those adorable penguins too, naturally!). PickersThe idea of this game is to make money by finding stuff at junk yards, garage sales, and businesses and reselling it. There's an assortment of characters, some of whom are more easygoing than others when it comes to negotiation (you can make offers for the items you buy, but if you go too low they just might outright refuse to sell to you). Some things are worth more in sets, but not all parts of the set are sold in the same location.

If people keep coming up with old games I already own but don't remember, I'll never buy another game! The game is really dark, graphics-wise, but the gameplay is excellent and the storyline is fantastic, other than the original Phantasmat, this is the one game I can think of that I's really, really, really love to have a sequel or continued storyline!

Thanks Pennmom - now I have so many to choose from I can't make up my mind I appreciate it. I forgot to add my favorite HOPA game for Humor: Charlaine Harris: Dying for DaylightA little fun fact: Charlaine Harris is the author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels and the inspiration for HBO's hit series True Blood

poohcorner, Jo, lurkercat, Valkara, Here's a thought...wouldn't it be cool if we went down the HOPA list on BFG in alphabetical order, one game at a time, and then people could comment on the game
for example, the first game on the list is:1 Moment of Time: Silentville
After posting the title everyone could chime in with whether or not they have played it, if they want to play it again, if they did play it what are the pros and cons (just examples, anything goes) Even better if posters gave it a personal star rating or a thumbs Up or Down! (it could be a great place for people to leave reviews, or walkthroughs they come across as well)
We could have the entire list on a single thread, OR my suggestion would be to could create a special board and list each game individually as its own thread, that way anyone could easily find a particular oldie to comment on or ask for help, etc. because they would automatically be in alphabetical order.
What do ya think, great idea or a waste of time?

@pennmom,Actually I think it's kind of a good idea if it didn't get too complicated. I don't think it needs its own board. More like one thread with each game in its own post. Or maybe one thread for HOPAs and a second thread for all other genres. And a simple rating system using the like button. Can you still get the dislike button in widgets? It would be a pain to put a poll for each game. You'd have to close the thread to any posting because we'd never find a darn thing otherwise. It would help us come up with some games to replay in group.

Jo , if it's not on a dedicated board it will not be easy to find games, you would have to go thru a ton of posts to get to the next game topic on the list If they had their own board then individual threads could be made on that board 1 per game. I guess it could be a sub board on an existing thread! We could make a sub board here thewoodsforum.boards.net/board/10/big-fish-daily-game and it would be at the top of the Big Fish Daily Games board Then anyone could make a thread going by Title and someone looking for a particular game could search easily by putting the games name into the search bar It would allow people to get ideas for their replays or whether to purchase a game based upon everyones input per game

Okay, that makes sense to have it as a sub-board.

poohcorner , lurkercat , Valkara , Jo , now what should we call it that's short but obvious as to what it's for? We could even create a poll to name the new board? Big Fish Oldies
BF HOPA Oldies (then we would have to have a sub-board for "other genres" as well) Older Games From Big Fish Remember This Game? (OR) Remember This BF Oldie? (OR) Do You Remember This BF Oldie? (OR) Do You Remember This BF Game? (OR) Remember This BF HOPA?
Felix Went Fishing & Caught This Oldie...
BF Oldies: Dust It Off Or Ditch It?
BF Oldies: Pick It Or Pitch It?
Slightly Out Of It's Prime BF Oldies
Not So New BF Games
Talk A Great Game
There Once Was a BF Game Called...
Is This BF Oldie Worthy of My Time?
(under descriptions it could say:) Create a new Thread for individual HOPA TITLES Posts: stay on topic for that designated game

First we should define what's considered "old."
Year of release? What system(s) it's supposed to be playable on? (Win 98 - 11)
It must be intuitive and obvious. In other words, not an in-joke and not associated with specific devs, because honestly there are people who pay no attention to that. I honestly have no idea who or what company created some of my old favorites.
