I know ashmoor registered recently, now we just have to wait for him to pop back into the woods. BTW pennmom , ashmoor does work for Suricate Software for all things Jewel Match (M3s and solitaire) but Daydream Mosaics is a side project of his which he and his wife pretty much did on their own with a little help from the rest of the Suricate team on publishing. Long story. I'm hoping he and Adina will come up with a name for their company, since they have plans for other games. Suricate used to have a website, but the last I checked, it was something really ancient which hadn't been updated in years and years so maybe they took it down.

SynthpopAddict, I asked @pennmom to make a single thread for me, until I'll get the branding going for my own dev studio. Long Arm Hug pennmom, thanks for the cozy dev den I'm here in case anyone has any questions regarding any of our projects :)

Ah, that makes sense now, thanks for the clarification ashmoor. IMO You still need to get rid of at least some of those stones in the next nonogram game because having to go through the game in 3 different difficulty modes is excessive. I'm slowly getting a little faster but maybe it's because I already did all the grids at least once before.

Our latest match 3 game has been released at Game House, it's an aquatic themed m3 with new mechanics. As you know, it takes a while until it reaches Big Fish Games, but the BFG release will have been polished based on the feedback we got from other portals.
Have fun! :)

ashmoor, I have to admit that I'm intrigued! Do you think it will be available on Steam soon?

Dunno if you recall something I mentioned over at Pond Friends, about the images used in the match-3 games... if you make them too close in color or shape, they'll be more difficult for people with vision problems to solve. Just something to keep in mind.

Wow! That was fast I just finished doing a round of beta testing for this last night to check out the insane mode per request from the developer! As for confusing tile types, I didn't notice that at all except for maybe 2-3 levels where there would be a single room of having 2 of the same color family in it, but the shapes of the fish, shells, and corals used are different enough it shouldn't be all that bad. And I've had four separate eye surgeries on both eyes to date so am like a real life Mr. Magoo. I will warn those who are getting the GameHouse version that the BF version will be tweaked some for the insane mode, as I didn't do the early beta testing of this like I've done for several other recent Jewel Match M3 releases. Yes, there's still relaxed, normal, and advanced modes, but now there's an insane difficulty for the real diehard JM veterans which they apparently didn't have much data on when I was asked to test it out. So here's the heads-up about insane difficulty for the GH version: Insane moves mode is actually quite doable for an expert player if you think it out and I found about 70% of it not that hard at all even with no shop powerups. Some of the levels even made me wonder if they were joking because I finished with over 100 moves left on insane! Insane timed mode however...yikes! As in, I couldn't do it without having to buy time constantly. Me! :o ashmoor has told me they are busy tweaking insane mode to make it more insane in moves mode and less insane in timed mode for the BF version, so I'll wait and see. The game is much better enjoyed in moves mode IMO because of the new mechanics making it much more puzzlelike. Tips thread to be created in the usual place. I suggest playing at least the optional tutorial levels where the new obstacles/features are explained, and you can custom pick the difficulty in the tutorials too. It's a really beautiful game, with even the bonus games being updated. :D The jigsaw puzzles are now actual jigsaw puzzles in the first stage; the second stage is still that put-the-cutouts-into-flickering-background-area which I still don't like, but it's nice to see a "real" jigsaw puzzle for a minigame, and there are now spot the difference minigames which are quite hard, along with a few "clutter" type HOS which move. It's awesome! Can I gush about the beautiful castles and fish too? Oh, I'd said I wasn't going to get that 600+ solitaire level game, but guess what...I just had to see more of those fantastic undersea images, and now the gaming OCD says I have to have all the bonus fish too. Heck, I think I'm going to blow up! (Don't worry - I'm a puffer fish and blowing up is what I do.) (rofl)

pennmom, there will be no JM Aquascapes on steam in the near future. We do not exclude the possibility but we'll try to get JM Origins on steam first and depending on that we'll see if we can invest more time to port JM Aquascapes as well. Valkara, do the pieces in the game trailer look too similar? We tried to make them as different as possible. It took several months and hundreds of changes. Please let me know if you have difficulty telling them apart. SynthpopAddict, be careful, there is a limit to diet coke intake per day :) take your time, you don't have to complete everything in 2 days

cyril50 , I too will be waiting for it on BFG...our Aussie dollar does not convert well on the other sites. Steam is ok..and they put it up in that price up front..but many US sites are just too expensive for me too. BFG are very generous in their conversion.

I heard back from ashmoor regarding the tweaks to the insane difficulty mode in Aquascapes. I still have no idea why the late beta version I received is so much easier to play on insane moves mode as opposed to timed mode, but have been told the insane timed mode at least was designed as an exception to their "solvable with medium hammer only" rule. They designed the insane timed mode to be played with a full set of powerups and hammers and are only going to drop the "insanity" for the timed mode just a little bit, so I guess I'm going to have to break down and buy spells and hammers for the first time in a few years to play it. Wondering if I totally broke the moves mode now to where I'm going to have to do the same thing with that too... The truly shocking thing to me is apparently one of the other beta testers Suricate uses finished insane timed mode with no spells or extra hammers and must surely be better at M3s than I am! I really want to watch this M3 god play! :O I've got some commentary on JM Atlantis Solitaire 2 CE. If you get a "perfect" on every level, you will finish the last castle on the SE map early and the game shows you the "end game" screen along with unlocking all the CE content right there, which is sort of confusing. I didn't try it, but wonder if you could possibly even glitch the game out by going to level 201 on the CE map before finishing the few remaining levels on the SE map, as I still had 3 levels left to play on the SE map when all the CE stuff unlocked. The other thing which is sort of weird is there's not a good way to shift between the 2 maps for some reason. You have to go all the way back to the main game screen and either pick "Play" to go to the SE map, or click on the "Collector's Edition Extras" to get to the CE map. Going between the 2 different shops is also a similar process (I'm working on the "shopping queen" trophy among other things and had not bought everything from the SE shop before the CE content unlocked). The M3 games have a much more efficient way of getting between the 2 different maps in CE versions with buttons to click upon in each map to toggle them, but it wasn't done for the solitaire games. Oh, and I'm ROFL at the "star geezer" trophy which was brought back in the CE content! 8D

If I want to play any of the extra games or buy anything from the main shop (am nearly done with everything, but it's sometimes necessary to buy jokers or wild cards), it's really annoying not to have an easier way to do it. Alas, I won't be getting every trophy, being quite happy with my current desktop wallpaper from one of the other Jewel Match games - a castle high in the mountains, very craggy and snowy and remote... and it's giving me all sorts of inspiration for a story I've been writing. I'm envisioning aerial combat on griffins happening there...

Well, if you liked the features that JM Atlantis 2 Solitaire had, they're back in Summertime. Very pretty cards with all those flowers and the castle scene shown in the video makes me think you're building castles in the French countryside for some reason. With all due respect to ashmoor though, I prefer Atlantis better and will stay with my fish, but thanks for giving us another installment of this series, which has improved a lot with having the new challenge and supersize levels, along with the side quests to add extra critters to your scenes. :D
