sisinka, IKIGames is quite famous for making their M3s "different" somehow. The DS games were all reverse M3 style and had assorted quirks, but all the Suddenly Meow games are more like puzzles with a M3 mechanic because a lot of the games are making pathways with your moves to get to target items and either moving/avoiding obstacles in a particular sequence. And Tim's a handsome cat (yes, Spooky, you're good looking too). ;)

I never played Dragon Scales until seeing the commentary in this thread, so downloaded the demo of Dragon Scales 2 on BFG. Was interesting and different, but I had no idea how to tell whether I was doing well or poorly at it. How does one tell with this sort of game??

lurkercat, I haven't played DS2 in years but I think they didn't have level stats in the game boards then. Can't remember if they had any trophies for X number scales collected cumulative, etc. in that game either, but the later games had trophies for getting enough scales, cascades, removing skulls and finding stars, among other things. If there's a stats display, you can challenge yourself by trying to beat the default "best time" for the level.

I tried Suddenly Meow 1+2, a really interesting take on the M3 game :-)
!! If there are any developers here, I'd be happy to be contacted, I'd like to participate in localizing their games into Czech - if there is interest. For free, of course. I've done a number of translations, some of which have been released directly on Steam, for example Daydream Mosaics 1+2 (2d nonograms, most recently Voxelgram (3d nonogram).

sisinka, as busy as most developers are these days with having to crank games out like crazy, I'd suggest contacting the ones who've made games you like directly at either their website or other social media if they have a Facebook, Twitter, etc. account to ask about the Czech localization on Steam. I did pass on your request about the DragonScales games to IKIGames since one of the designers is a friend of mine and he's just busy with other stuff for now (house got flooded in recent storms plus he's having to do business stuff with assorted publishers and portals for an upcoming game). He'll try to pop back into the forums sometime soon.

I read elsewhere that ikigames newest M3 release, Spooky Dwellers, is now available at GameHouse! They're working on getting a direct sale link setup at the IKIGames website; not sure when the other places will have it. My guide is already up at the IKIGames website if you need help; I'll post it in the usual location later this weekend. If you thought the Suddenly Meow games had a nice concept but you hated the magnets, air horns, and serious puzzle-y mechanics, Spooky Dwellers will be much more to your liking. This Halloween-themed game was pretty relaxing to play and you don't need a WT for most levels. But in true IKIGames fashion, they've incorporated a few levels here and there for which "order of operations" is extremely important, and these are the only levels covered in the WT. Another thing which is really great about the CE is you don't just have "more of the same" longer game - the CE extras have new (exclusive) obstacles in the CE M3 levels, and you get 2 new minigames which you won't find in the SE at all. I wish more developers would do this instead of just making a CE longer. The only disclaimer I'd give the fans is if you are spooked by realistic-looking ghosts, the wallpapers and minigames won't be for you. There are a few spiders here and there and some blood splatters, but not lots. Thanks ikigames for another great game and letting me beta test!

SynthpopAddict, pennmom, lurkercat, sonia (username @eskarina), sisinka, I hope you're all well. I'm currently working on our next Match 3. I have to implement new features for the boards, and that's taking most of my time as it's a really error-prone task. I have to be careful. Hopefully you'll like Spooky Dwellers, which should not be as demanding as Suddenly Meow in terms of puzzle-solving. But in case of problems SynthpopAddict wrote a guide covering any potentially lockable level. Well, I'm back to the grind. Take care!

SynthpopAddict, pennmom, lurkercat, sonia (username @eskarina), sisinka, ikigames, I hope everybody is fine :) Resurfacing from under torrents of water, I'm here again. It's been a bit of a difficult few weeks between torrential rains, floods, fallen trees, power outages and disruptions to other services and supply chains, including fuel. But we have kept working, somehow. Our next game, Nocturnarya, is slowly taking shape. Starting today we'll be focusing on level design. Take care!

ikigames , so happy to see you back in the Woods! Please stay safe, hang in there, and thanks for checking in with us. I'm looking forward to Nocturnarya when it releases, but don't worry about rushing on it because I totally understand you need to focus on other things in life for now. Sure hope things improve soon for you as the things you've been dealing with really suck. Wonder if that character is a vampire worrying about being beheaded.
Hope you can get a direct link setup at your website for Spooky Dwellers; I know that got delayed by events completely out of your control. Thanks for putting up copies of all my Steam WTs for the DragonScales games!

Thanks to cbtx for posting this in the Shoutbox. I'm putting this in the developer thread since ikigames has had all manner of tech issues with no internet service where he lives on a regular basis and has also been busy with projects in queue. I'm pretty sure IKIGames will also sell this direct from their website eventually. The CE of the latest IKIGames release, Nocturnarya, is now available at GameHouse (when the other suspects are getting it, don't know). Will probably NOT be out at Steam, so you'll have to check elsewhere. www.gamehouse.com/games/nocturnarya-collectors-editionI had the pleasure of beta testing this some time ago, and will say it's got a great, albeit dark, theme. Not scary or gory, just gothic with the vampire element and battling the humans who want to destroy all vampires. The game is a really easy M3. All you have to do is clear tiles and obstacles blocking the pathways to gold nuggets, and the pathway is pretty obvious. There are no levels which could be rendered impossible by doing things in incorrect order. About the only challenges are finding the hidden blood cartridges in some of the M3 levels, and the battle levels where you have to deplete all the hit points from the opponent before they can do the same to you. An assortment of minigames: jigsaw type puzzles, HOS, a "bloody light" game where you rotate light channels until all the eyes are closed when the light shines on them, and in the CE, a variation of the pairs matching game seen in some earlier IKIGames M3s. This new Nocturne Gallery minigame is far more challenging than the earlier incarnation of the pairs game. But the best part of Nocturnarya is the village you're reconstructing in between levels. This isn't the typical "build a scene" thing you see in many other M3s these days, but more like a "sim" game to me where you get to build your village however you'd like and can remodel it infinitely. The only catch is you have to have enough gold coins from playing the levels/minigames to keep buying or reconstructing things. The village is needed to up your battle skills for the battle levels, so isn't just a pretty side game. I was actually sort of bored with the M3 game because it's just that easy, but the village building really made the game for me! You can even name your village whatever you'd like. It takes a bit of getting used to the controls in the village building area, but once you get the hang of it, it's great. And you can zoom in on your village scene for a really good view. If you can't find a blood cartridge somewhere, there's a guide with the locations of all the blood cartridges here: www.ikigames.com/nocturnarya-guide/Enjoy!

SynthpopAddict, pennmom, lurkercat, sonia (username @eskarina), sisinka, ikigames, purrplecat very much! Right now we are focused on completing the localization of Spooky Dwellers 2, a job that is taking longer than expected (especially the Spooky Tour tutorials and the main ghosts' stories). We have to deliver that project before the spooky season gets too far ahead of us. For now we have no plans to release Nocturnarya on Steam. Maybe next year? If time permits and the spooky season is not over yet, we could release Spooky Dwellers 1 (and/or SD 2) on Steam, but this is not sure either. If you have any feedback or suggestions about features of Nocturnarya and the upcoming Spooky Dwellers 2, please share them with us. Especially, the 3D village: we are evaluating the possibility of further improving and extending it to add it to our next game. Thanks in advance!

Oh, Spooky Dwellers 2...so didn't want to say anything until the game actually released somewhere, but this game is awesome! About the only detractor I'd say SD2 has is that it's considerably harder than the first one, so if you were wanting another easy game like the first one, won't be your thing. Suggest playing Nocturnarya instead if you want a really easy M3. The village building element from Nocturnarya returns in Spooky Dwellers 2, and the CE version of the village is bigger and better than the SE version. Plus, the CE version has a feature where you can literally take a tour of your village up-close and personal! There are other CE exclusives: minigames not in the SE, and new levels with new obstacles not in the SE. Sure hope it comes out soon. Thanks ikigames for stopping by and letting us know!
pennmom : Why isn't ikigames a Den Leader like other developers on this site?
Per the request for feedback on the village: The CE sized village in SD2 was big enough in terms of the grid size. Wouldn't make it any larger because we are already having to scroll the screen to see everything with the current size as is. The Nocturnarya village doesn't require scrolling around, but of course is a little smaller to fit the screen. I noticed that one thing you can't really do in any of the villages is rotate the view much: there is only a limited amount you can look at in any scene viewing option. When I'm constructing, I like to use the "top down" view so I can see where all the unfilled squares are, but in the "side angle" views might be nice if we could rotate the scene 360 degrees.

Leaning on developer for more games in the steam vent. Yes, I know it's not your favorite place, but... ;)
