Thought I'd take a poll to see if members are excited or bummed that BF is changing their system to credits and doing away with Bonus Punch Mondays & Tomorrow's Game Today?

Big Fish:
Important Changes are Coming to Big Fish!
Updated 35 minutes ago
Exciting changes are coming to the Big Fish Games platform in 2022!
We’re happy to announce that we’ll be adding a points system called Big Fish Points where you earn points on everything you purchase and can then redeem those points for a discount on any future purchases. The Big Fish Points system will be replacing both the current Punch Card and Game Club credits systems. Read on to learn more.
Here are a few of the benefits you can take advantage of as soon as the new system is in place:
NEW - Big Fish Points can be redeemed for a discount on any game purchase regardless of game type or quantity - not limited to Standard Version games!
NEW - Big Fish Points can be redeemed for a discount on purchases that are already discounted - more opportunities to save!
As mentioned above, the Big Fish Points system will be replacing both the current Punch Card and Game Club credits systems. If you have any unused credits when we switch to the new system, those will be automatically converted to Big Fish Points. Please know that we’re carefully balancing the new system to achieve parity with the current offering. For example, in the current system, 1 credit is usually worth $6.99 USD - the cost of a standard version game. In the new system, that credit will be converted to 699 points, and like before, can be used to redeem a standard version game at $6.99 USD. Unlike before, those 699 points will now also be redeemable for a $6.99 discount on any Collector's Edition! Each Big Fish Point will equal $0.01 and we believe this system is the best way to allow players to easily track their Big Fish Point totals.
For players with active Punch Card coupons, those will automatically be converted to 699 Big Fish Points and the coupon itself will no longer be redeemable at checkout. Also, players will no longer be able to earn punches or Punch Card coupons after the cut-off date. More on the timing below.
With the new system, your Game Club benefits will change in the following ways:
Instead of receiving a credit each month, you will receive an equivalent number of points.
Instead of earning Punch Card punches, all players will earn points on purchases, but members will earn at a higher rate.
Instead of Tomorrow’s Game Today, members will have Exclusive Access to our new games for one or more days before the world-wide release.
What Game Club benefits stays the same:
The Daily Deal
The Sneak Peak Program
Other updates to the Big Fish website are also on the horizon and we’ll be sharing those details with everyone soon!
We are currently targeting early 2022 for these changes and will keep you updated as we progress. Please check back frequently for more details and sign up for the Game Splash newsletter to be the first to know.
Happy Gaming!
The Team at Big Fish

As a non-club member, I do like this new system. No negatives for me, only a plus.

Not a game club member so it doesn't really affect me

I had to vote Neutral for now. It feels like we don't have all the facts yet. Will the points carry over month to month? Will we be able to purchase a CE with enough points? Or will it just be a discount? Hopefully more info is coming.

Not a game club member so it doesn't really affect me Yes, it does. It says, "Instead of earning Punch Card punches, all players will earn points on purchases, but members will earn at a higher rate." They haven't defined what "a higher rate" means but non-members will be earning something. I do want to know how long before points expire. Monthly? Annually? Never? ETA: Does this mean we'll earn 299 points if we buy a daily deal? If we buy a game during a sale, does that affect the number of points we get?
The one good thing I've seen is, " Unlike before, those 699 points will now also be redeemable for a $6.99 discount on any Collector's Edition!'. That's been a sore point for members since at least 2007 when I joined. How many credits have we all had that expired because we couldn't find an SE game that we wanted?
But, and that's a big BUT, as a skeptic and a cynic, I'll reserve my judgement until I see how this all plays out in reality. My skeptical part wonders how much PR is involved in this announcement and how much is actual fact. My cynical part thinks there must be something in this to improve profits, always the top priority, for BF.
ETA: This is a nit-picky thing but I wish they didn't call us "players". We're "customers".

I hope that BF will finally start offering flexible pricing on their games with this points system. It doesn't make sense for them to keep charging $9.99 or $13.99 for games which have been out a while unless said game happens to win the Daily Deal lottery. Makes me wonder if the frequent sales they have are going to go away though in order to get people to either sign up for memberships and/or rack up more points. Otherwise, I think the points system is a good idea and lets everybody take advantage of it for any type of games.

Yeah, I'm skeptical on when the points expire too. I'm sitting on several GCCs now because there is nothing I want to buy. (I currently quit Game Club and rejoin every 6 months to keep my GCCs alive, w/o having to accrue more monthly fees in the interim). Useful to be able to keep the GCCs till something worthwhile is available. I'm also interested in whether there is any impact on using points with sales. Currently I only buy at BOGOs using my GCCs and am annoyed I cannot use my "never expire" coupons during the BOGOs (maybe that will be a positive aspect of the new change). Was handy to use 3 GCCs to get 7 games at a time, counting the PCC that came along with single buy. Seems the change is somehow intended to always get some "real" money from customers on each purchase. Good for BFG's bottom line, but I'm skeptical it will work to MY benefit. We'll see, I guess. I'm down to 3 GCCs, but gosh, there are not 6 games out there I want right now to be able to use them even if a BOGO comes up before the new change goes into effect. Pickings have been pretty slim for a while now, imho.
Ah, ETA to add - hadnt thought of it till seeing someone else's post just now, but my GCCs were good for a full game even after I quit the Game Club. Now, they'll only be worth $6.99 on a $9.99 price for the same game. Grr.

I have several PCCs that "never expire" as replacements for games that they can't get links for anymore due to my infamous 1404 Game Manager Glitch and I'm wondering if they just expired lol Rolling Along

I am torn. Clearly more details need to made available before some of the long-time game club members (15 years here) can assess what this really means to them. Currently you need 6 SE's or 2 CE's (or some combination) to get a free coupon. Does that mean the same number of purchases will be necessary to get the points? Or are points awarded on every purchase? What exactly is the points rate? Will there still be Bogo's? So many questions. But my biggest concern is that I rarely see a game anymore that I want to purchase. Whether its points or coupons is irrelevant if there is no quality product to use them on.

@valdy, smitty189, good2bqueen, Jo, SynthpopAddict, lurkercat, ranbar61, Sorry, for some reason the poll showed "ended" so I tried to edit it and they all disappeared so I'll tag todge and hopefully he can troubleshoot the issue when he pops online next time :) I'm really wondering if BF is having issues presenting a new game everyday so they revamped the system so they could ditch the FREE PCC games on Monday and then no one will complain when they don't offer a new daily game...there has to be a reason, and that reason has to be $$$$$

The other day They contacted me with a free game and I replied and got another free game lol

cyril50, That happens to me all the time. Click below the quote on the far left, moving lower as you go until you get a cursor on the far left side. You'll be well below the quote. Don't try to tighten up the space. You'll just end up back in the quote box.

Apologies pennmom for sodding up your poll post.
