Mark is stranded on an island covered in a lush forest.
One day, when the wind is blowing from the west, lightning strikes the west end of the island and sets fire to the forest.
The fire is fierce burning everything in its path. Without intervention the fire will burn the whole island, killing Mark in the process.
There are steep cliffs around the island, so he has no means of escape.
There are no buckets or any other means to put out the fire. How can the Mark survive the fire?
{Spoiler Answer} Mark picks up a piece of wood and lights it from the fire on the west end of the island.
Then he quickly carries it near the east end of he island and starts a new fire.
The wind will cause that fire to burn out the eastern end and he can then shelter in the burnt area.

{Spoiler}1) If there is a lush forest on the island, there must be a source of fresh water somewhere, so Mark would have to try hiding in the water and popping up only to breathe to avoid being burned.
2) If there are underground formations or crevices somewhere Mark could hide, perhaps he could shelter there.
3) He might be able to use vines if they're around to climb off the cliffs or try jumping into the ocean, but otherwise I think he's hosed.

I like SynthpopAddict's option 2, have only 1 other possible suggestion, but in any event, think she is right that old Mark is just hosed! {Option 4}If the fire is moving slowly enough, Mark can try setting a fire of his own on the extreme easternmost part of the island. Then, IF that fire finishes its path to the coast AND the area cools down enough, he can retreat to the easternmost section. The original fire will die out when it reaches this manufactured fire break & so Mark will be safe on the pre-burned area he created. But gosh, let's face it, poor old Marko is indeed a goner & his only option is to CHOOSE how he dies - (a)in the fire (if he does nothing), (b)in the sea (if he chooses to jump off the cliff) by drowning, crushed on any rocks that may be at the edge, or eaten by the sharks or (c)of starvation, (even if any of SynthpopAddict or my solutions work for him)'cause everything on the island is destroyed by the fire so there is no food left! I'm deliberately ignoring fishing as an occupation for him - if the cliffs are indeed steep & high, he'd need to fashion an extremely long "line" to catch anything and then to keep the line intact so he can reel in anything he may catch (if he even had any bait since the island is destroyed).

A man kills his wife with a knife in their car when nobody is around to see. Then he throws her body out of the car and is careful not to leave any fingerprints on her. He throws the knife into the ocean where it will never be found and goes home.
Two hours later the police call him and tell him that his wife has been murdered and that he needs to come to the scene of the crime as soon as possible.
When he arrives they arrest him.
How did they know he murdered his wife?
{ Answer} The police never mentioned where the crime scene was.
The fact that the man knew where to go proved that he was guilty.

{Spoiler Answer} Because the sisters are Siamese twins.

{Spoiler}1) The man must have been stupid enough to drive the same car to the site where his wife's body was found so with all the blood in the car from the stabbing the police could have rapidly figured out that with the car belonging to the man that he must at least be a suspect.
2) The sister is either already in jail for another murder so cannot be convicted again of the same crime, or else the sister has died.

{The murdered wife} Did the police tell him WHERE they find the body? Or told him only to come to the scene, in which case how would the husband know WHERE the scene was, unless he himself the murderer. The police arrested him, because only the murderer would know WHERE the "scene" was.

Um...well, if the sisters were conjoined twins, the other one in a way was still a part of the crime since she didn't do something to prevent the crime before it happened and was present during the committing of the crime, so isn't it sort of an "aiding and abetting" situation? I am stating this based upon the legal system in the US; other countries may have different rules.

Well, not really a "mystery" except that you do need to evaluate clues to figure out the answer: This is what is called a Psycho Sudoku. Works just like Sudoku (fill in numbers 1-9 so the numbers are unique in each row, column, and major 3x3 squares). Difference here is that none of the numbers are filled in for you at the start. There are just less than (<) and greater than (>) signs in the major 3x3 squares telling you how a square compares to its neighbor. May look impossible at the start, but is definitely much more solvable than it seems at first glance (start out figuring out where the 9's and 1's belong). Give it a try - you'll find it really is quite do-able(honest!) Sorry, I didnt know how to put it in so you could work it online, so you may need to save the image & then print it out to do it.

A married couple went on for a climbing trip but only the husband returned from the vacation
He said to the police that his wife slipped off while climbing and died.
Upon investigating, the sheriff arrested him saying, ”Your travel agent called. You murdered your wife!”
The man did not inform anyone about the trip.
Why was the agent so sure that it was a murder?
{Spoiler Answer} The husband bought only a one-way ticket for his wife whereas he bought a two-way ticket for himself.
It means that he was sure that he will be returning alone.

How would the travel agent even have known anyone was dead?
